OMHA playdowns
Bantam Legionaires win opener
EXETER - The Ontario Minor Hocke) Association playdowns have be-
gun and it is the Exeter Bantam Legion:tires coming up with the first victo-
ry
On Saturday, Exeter's (Gavin Snell scored on a rebound to give his team
a 4-3 win ovcr Lambeth in the opening game of the best -of -five series.
With just 1:33 left in regulation time, Snell got the winner off of a Scan
McCann -shot. Ben Armstrong also picked up an assist. McCann started
• the game's scoring atter he was in die right spot at the right time to get a
rebound off of Snell's shot.
Rob Kobayashi scored into a gapping net after Armstrong and Marty
Dcllruyn did a lot of leg work. Lambeth had a 3-21ead'at one point before
D. Bruen deflected Matt Godbolt's shot.
Gana -1 wo of the series is FruJ y at 8 .in. in Lambeth and again in
Lambeth on Sunday.
In other OMHA;'CC information, the Novice Waxers will play a round-
robin with Forest, Lambeth, St. Marys and Strathroy. Both the Atom Bron-
cosand the Peewee Legions have a b)c in the first round before meeting
tither f o: _ st or Lambeth. The Midget (,.:acrals will meet Forest.
