Despite eye Injury, Timmermans continues to play

That's why, despite having just
ten percent vision in his left eve,
he's helping the Exeter Mohawks un
-their-baule•-for-first plan in the
Southern Counties Senior 'A' )lock -
ey League.
Sunday night, the five-year vete-
ran defenceman aided the Mo-
hawks to a 5-3 win over the visiting
Dorchester Dolphins. The aur
vaulted the locals into. fust ptaee,
one point ahead of the Dunnville

Exeter was scheduled to tee u
Dunnville on Saturday but bad road
conditions postponed the trip .

"We were really flat. We missed
two games and we haven't had a
practice in a while."

Neil nets winner in Irish slim victor

LUCAN - The Lucan Irish may
be sitting comfortable in second •
place in the west division of the
OHA Development League, but
things aren't all roses in the Lahti of
green and white.
Sunday afternoon they squeaked
out a 5-4 win over the last place
hit. Brydges Bulldogs but the night
before in Belmont lost 4-3 to the
Pests.
Although the Irish are 20-5-3 and

(as of press time), there are a lcw
'problem areas which have to be ad-
justed before the post -season.
"We have to start doing every-
thing better," said Irish coach Ken
Needham.
One of those areas is defence. Ed
VanKerkoerkle and Kevin Leitch
are anchoring a blueline corps that
has three good but inexperienced
rookies. Brad Bowers who played
last year is not always available.
"We're going out Monday look-
ing for players. We have two cards
to fill," said Needham.
It was a tough week for Lucan as
they also barely slipped pet the

"You have to keep your cool. The
more players on the bench the bet-
ter," said Neil.
Lucan's busy schedule continues
tonight when they host the Port
Stanley Lakers and Friday travel to
Alvinston. .
