Both Merritt and the town's
taxpayers have paid tens of thou-
sand of dollars in legal, engi-
it. cring and planning fees over
nestrly three years of squabbles
and position changes.
Merritt will have two and a
half years to sign the subdivision
• agreement and begin providing
sewage, water -and other services
for his 18 -lot subdivision in the
Hastings, - Eagle and Anna
Strcctsarea.
Merritt must provide security/
to the town in the form of a
'S1_00,000 letter of credit and the
deeding of 13 of the lots teethe

death of a tour -year-old at Clin-
ton Public -Hospital due to a case
of meningitis have been found to
be unsubstantiated according to
Huron County's Medical Officer
of -Health, Dr. Maarten BNchout.

truth to the rumor was found.
• Any case of meningitis or sus-
pected meningitis discovered by
a physician must be reported to
'the Medical Officer of Health.
To date, only one case of men-
ingitis has been diagnosed in the

The Lung Association considers

them starting before the age 14.
Each year thousands of students in
Huron and Perth Counties are visa-
