Santa Loses Weight
Ryan Parker
Grade 4
Usborne Central P.S.
On Christmas Eve Santa was eat-
ing cookies that Mrs. Claus made.
After he was done he went to
weigh himself. He weighed 900
pounds. And then he went to feed
the deer. But he couldn't fit through
the door. And Mrs. Claus saw him
and said, "You're going on a diet."
And he said, "No way, Jose!" Mrs.
Claus said, "You won't be able to
fit into the sleigh."
"Oh yeah, yeah," said Santa
Claus.
"I won't be able to lose 800
pounds before Christmas". "Yes
you will," said Mrs. Claus. "The
elves will help you." "Really." "I'll
tell them to make a thing for aero-
bics."
"Okay and don't eat any more
junk food Santa." "Okay". And that
night Santa lost 700 pounds. And
that day he lost 100 pounds and he
was ready for Christmas.

Dear Santa:
Here is my Christmas lisi for our
planet. I want everybody to have
joyful moments, warm clothes,
peace to end war, homes or shelter,
clean air or clean water, healthful
foods and medicine or hospitals.
Also please give them schools to
learn. Give these things to people
who are poor, really, really far
away. Not just the people in rich
countries like Canada and United
States of America. Just because you
live in North Pole doesn't mean you
can't go to the poor countries.
Love your friend,
Brayden
Rudolph Runs Away
Jenna Rader
Grade 2
Exeter P.S.
One Sunday morning when San-
ta's elves were busy and the rein-
deer were outside, all the elves and
the reindeer were laughing all ex-
cept one. That was Rudolph.
All the reindeer and elves were
laughing at Rudolph. They all hated
his nose! Santa heard all the laugh-
ing and he came outside. When he
got outside he started to laugh too.
Then Rudolph said in his mind, "I
know. I will run away!"
So when the reindeer and elves
went back to work Rudolph ran
away. Then they went outside be-
cause they needed him. They said,
"Where could he have gone?" They
sat down to think.
Then one of the reindeer said, "I
know he went to California!" All of
them said, "No that's not right."
Then an elf said, "I know! He went
to Florida!" They all said "No that's
not right!" Then a reindeer said "I
know, he ran away because we
were too mean to him." We have to
find him before tomorrow night be-
cause he has to guide Santa's sled!
Then they went out to find him.
They saw a red light and said,
"That has to be him". They all ran
and it was him. We're sorry we said
"You look dumb with your nose!"
Let's go to have some hot choco-
late.
The next day Rudolph guided
Santa's sled! And that is the end of
the story! -
The Night Before
Christmas
Amanda McKinnon
St. Boniface, Grade 4
It was a nice snowy night on
Christmas eve was here. Katherine
and Amanda were nestled all sung
in their beds while visions of sugar-
plums danced in their heads.
While Jenna in her kerchief and
Kerry -Lynn in her cap had just set-
tled down for a long winter's nap.
When up on the rooftop there
was a noise and such a clatter.
Away to the window I flew like a
flash and what I heard was the
dancing and prancing of each little
hoof.
So I knew in a moment it must be
St. Nick. When up in the sky a
present appeared. I knew I had to
do something for St. Nick. Down
through the chimny St. Nick came
with a bump. Away to the living
rootn I flew like a flash.
"Jenna what are you doing out a
bed?" Well Santa I heard a noise
and such a clauer so jumped out of
bed to see what was the maucr" (.
Then I ran to the window and a
present appeared in the sky, so I
thought I better tell you". "Well,
$oytoAU "
Out of the cold and frosty air comes a wish for a very
warm and happy holiday season.

Jenna, do you have any rope?"
"Yes, I do Santa". "Well could you
get it?" "Okay here's what we will
do. First, are you afraid of
heights?" "No I'm not". "Well what
I'll do is tie one end of the rope to
my sleigh and the other end around
your stomach. Then you'll jump
and get the present. Then we'll go
on the rooftop of your house." "All
right, let's go", I said. "Okay Jenna
on the count of three jump. 1 2 3".
"Got the present", I yelled up to
Santa. "Here you go Santa".
"Thank you very much Jenna".
"Your welcome". Ding, Dong,
Ding, Dong. Ding, Dong, Ding,
Dong, 10 time to get up. That
morning we all heard Santa yell.
"Merry Christmas to all and to all a
good time". But that day all I cold
think about was the little boy or girl
that got that special present.
The end.
