ZURICH - Labatt's
Blue Light Open en-
tries for the Bluewater
5 Pin Association
BLue Light 20 game
I zone qualifying round dropped dra-
matically to 45 this year.
With 1989 Bluewater Associa-
tion Blue Light entries at an all
time record 72 and 1990 entries
holding at 67, it has become evi-
dent the GST has had a profound
effect on the cost of competing in
Canada's 5 pin bowling sport.
The 1989 cost of competing in
the Bluewater Association Blue
Light rolloff was $30 entry and $34
lineage. Cost for 1990 was $30 en-
try, $36 lineage.
But 1991 costs increased sub-
stantially to entry $32.10 and line-
age $40, respectively, including
GST.
Zurich 5 Pin Association Blue
Light entries dropped from last
year's 21 to only eight this year.
This indicates layoffs and GST
combined to lower Blue Light en-
tries.
Also, the latest innovation in 5
pm bowling, personalized bowling
balls at an average $120 cost, may
have improved bowling scores to
the point other bowlers will have to
lay out this extra cost to remain
competitive. Entries will probably
continue low.
Molting Hawks struggle
EXETER - The Exeter Molting Hawks lost two and tied one this past
week in Oldtimers hockey action.

Exeter fell 9-5 to Lambeth as Ron Motxe, McDonald, Randy Gilfillan,
Murray Little and Scott Burton connected. Gilfillan also had two assists.
On Sunday the Molting Hawks tied Clinton 6-6. Bergmann had a big
game firing four goals and Ahrens notched a pair. This week they host Ste-
phen Oldtimers.
