Exeter 235-2420 Galser-Kneale Grand Bend 238-8484 The grade 4-5 class from Hensall Public School, under the guidance of Heather Beattie, pre- sented a Christmas program for the seniors at Queensway on Friday afternoon, including "T was the Night Before Christmas: Billy's version". The students also brought Christmas cards to exchange with the residents. A Christmas party at the Hensall Legion Friday afternoon had Marcia Budd's grade 3-4 class singing songs for senior citizens who came to the Christmas celebration. After the singsong, the students presented Christmas cards, like the one Gresham Bayley gave to Marg Cole. Then the students interviewed the seniors to find out about Christmasses past. Christmas in Hensall By Vanessa Cook HENSALL - The Three Links Seniors enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner catered by the Presbyterian ladies last Monday. The meeting followed at the hall which was dec- orated for Christmas. President Irene Blackwell opened the meeting by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. On Friday, the seniors went to the Legion for a Christmas party. Miss Budd's grade3/4 class was there also. Hensall Legion HENSALL : 'As the year comes to an end, on December 11, Branch 468 Hensall held its last meeting for the year. All members agreed to donate $150 to the Town and Coun- try Homemakers, $500 to the Hu- ron County needy families, $100 to the Zurich Pee Wee hockey team for expenses to go the Zone Cl tournament in Blyth on December 14 and ten Christmas baskets to sin- gle veterans. On the 12 of December the Le- gion and Ladies Auxiliary visited the Queensway nursing home with fruits, cake and ice cream. Enter- tainment was by the Swinging Seniors and vocalist 10 year old Julie Godbolt. The residents danced and sang and had good time. On December 13 the Legion - held its annual seniors Christmas social at the Hensall Branch. The grade two and three of the Hensall Public School sang carols and pre- sented handmade Christmas cards to each senior. Peter Snell accom- panied the carollers on his guitar. The January meeting will be held Monday the 13th at 2 p.m. The November 26 ticket winners were: quilt Stacy O'Brien, Sarnia; afghan, Belle Mole, RR6 Goderich; cushion Isobel Hunt, Seaforth. Ruby Bell, Gertie Moir and An- nie Reid were in charge of the pro- gramme and cards. Evelyn McBeath gave a reading "I'm going home for Christmas". Mary Broad - foot played Christmas favourites and carols were sung. Card winners Ruby Bell, Clarence Volland, Helen Anderson and Eileen Rannie were card winners. Lone hand was won by Gladys Coleman. Door prizes donated by Elizabeth Sang- ster were won by Dorothy Brintnell and Eileen Rannie. Personals Wednesday, December 18 will be red and green day at Hensall Public School. Friday, December 20 at 2:30 p.m. students will be dismissed for the holidays. Queensway News HENSALL Baking Club kept several residents busy Monday af- ternoon, as they prepared some special Christmas treats to freeze and serve during Christmas pro- grams. Rev. Phillips of Varna and Gosh- en United Churches led the wor- ship service Tuesday afternoon with Anna Keys as pianist. Rev. Phillips also gave communion to all those desiring to receive it. Wednesday afternoon we were recipients of an excellent program by Peter Snell's grade four and five classes from Hensall public school. The children also brought and served delicious star shaped sugar cookies they had baked and deco- rated themselves. Everyone loved their program and the visiting after - _wards. Hensall Legion and Legion La- dies Auxiliary brought a lively eve- ning of entertainment to residents of Queensway Thursday evening. Following Pig the program the Legion women ,' served a mouth watering lunch of angel food cake and icecream. Friday afternoon Ms. Beattie's class from Hensall Public School : paid a visit. They brought home- made Christmas cards for each res- ident and lost of fun and music. ,► They also donated a very large tur- key to the nursing home, which .10 they plan to enjoy.
