Thames Road Christmas Concert
Public School trustee - Su-
san Rodgerson, daughter of
Hugh and Elizabeth Davis,
was elected to the office of
Public School Trustee for the
Hamilton Board of Education
on November 12. Mrs. Rod-
gerson is a graduate of Exet-
er Public School, South Hu-
ron District High School and
McMaster University.
The primary class of the Thames Road Sunday School performed "Happy Birthday Jesus" at
Thames Road

THAMES ROAD - The Third
Sunday in Advent Church Service
was held on Sunday morning with
Rev. Sheila Macgregor in charge.
The choir proceeded up the aisle
singing "Joy to the World"
The congregation sang the chil-
dren's hymn "Shepherds In the
Field Abiding". Amanda Hodgert
lit the pink candle in the advent
wreath representing joy. The other
two candles in the wreath were lit
for hope and peace.
Rev. Macgregor gave the chil-
dren's message "The First Christ-
mas Card". The choir sang "I Won-
der as I Wander" accompanied by
the organist Agnes Bray. Rev. Mac-
gregor read the Scripture Lesson
Zephaniah 3: 14-20; Luke 3: 7-18.
Her message was entitled "Wait-
ing".
Announcements
The Confirmation Class will
meet on Friday, December 20 at 3
p.m. at Thames Road.
Next Sunday each child or each
family is asked to bring a Christ-
mas decoration to hang on the tree
or to decorate any part of the sanc-
tuary.
Joint Christmas Eve Service:
Please come and worship with car-
ols and communion on Tuesday,
December 24 at 8 p.m. at Thames
I, ,ad.

meeting is called for both Thames
Road and Elimville congregations.
This meeting will follow the joint
worship service at Elimville on
Sunday, December 29 at 10 a.m.
At this meeting people from both
churches will be selected to serve
on the Pastoral Relations Commit-
tee whose function is to seek a new
minister.
Following the meeting there will
be hot dogs for lunch downstairs
followed by skating at the Hensall
Arena at 1:00 p.m. -
Karen Etherington welcomed
everyone to the annual Sunday
School Christmas Concert &May
evening at Thames Road United
Church.
Piano solos were played by Erin
and Ryan Parker, Brenda Miner,
Laura and Maggie Miller, Vanessa
and Kristy Bray. A clogging special
was danced by Lori Richardson. A
number of skits and dialogues were
performed by the different Sunday
School classes, supervised by
teachers Anne Kernick, Kathy
Bray, Laurel Miner, Mary Lou
Bilcke, Janis Richardson, Joan
Morgan, Judith Parker and Melonie
Miller. Rebecca Miller played the
piano accompaniment for the Sun-
day School members to sing to.
Santa Claus arrived and many
gifts were distributed from a well -
laden and decorated tree which
brought a very enjoyable evening
to a close.
Personals
Sympathy of the community is
extended to Bob and Sharon Pav-
keje in the passing of her father the
late Lyle Docking. The flowers in
Elimville Church on Sunday were
placed there in his memory.
Congratulations to Keith and
Shelly Passmore on the baptism of
their son Kurt Tyler on Sunday.
