Clark paces
Hawks to
pair of
victories
EXETER - Veteran winger Doug
Clark seems to have found his
niche after a sparkling weekend in
OHA Development (Junior 'D')
league action this weekend.
The sturdy 20 -year-old racked up
six points for the Exeter Hawks as
they defeated both the Mt. Brydges
Bulldogs and Alvinston Flyers.
Hawks 7, Bulldogs 3
Clark notched two goals and add-
ed an assist Saturday night in Mt.
Brydges as Exeter knocked off the
Bulldogs 7-3.
Steve Vandenberk opened the
scoring for the Hawks on the pow-
erplay midway through the first
when he teed up a pass from Paul
Manders.
After Mt. Brydges tied it, Clark
went to work in the second scoring
back-to-back goals and Exeter
cruised to a victory.
Andrew Barton seems to be find-
ing a groove, having overcome a
broken collar bone, as ,he chipped
in with a pair ofhis OWL
Also scoring for the Hawks were
Ray Cousineau and Mark Reid.
Hawks 6, Flyers 5
Allan Blommaert's empty net
goal with 21 seconds remaining
proved to be the winner as Exeter
held on to win 6-5 over Alvinston
in Exeter Friday night.
Blommaert's goal came with the
Hawks shorthanded and enjoying a
one -goal lead.
The Flyers managed a goal just
19 seconds later but ran out of time
against the locals.
