Pastor William Kramer officiated. The bride is the daughter of Lorne and Sharon Ehgoetz, of Stratford. The groom is the son of John and Janice Baker, of Hensall. The matron of honour was Lori Schooley, friend of the bride and groom. The brides- maids were Leah McPherson, friend of the bride and groom, Becky Mercer, sister of the groom, Lori Baker, sis- ter-in-law of the groom and Kelly Ehgoetz, sister of the bride. The bride's cousin, Hi- lary Brown, was flowergirl. Dave Atthill, friend of the bride and groom, was best man. The groomsmen were Brad Baker, brother of the groom, Tim Hamathtr and John Dixon, friends of the bride and groom, and Mat- thew Ehgoetz, brother of the bride. Guests were received at South Huron Recreation Centre, Exeter. The bride's uncle Wayne Cousins, was master of ceremonies. Jodie and Bryan sincerely thank their wedding party, family and friends for making their joy more complete with their presence, thoughtfulness and prayers. By Carmel Sweeney ZURICH - Over 300 people en- joyed the annual Christmas dinner held at the Blue Water Rest Home on Sunday afternoon. It was a spe- cial way for the residents to invite their families in for the traditional hot ham and turkey meal . Members of the board and their wives along with the Ladies Auxil- iary were on hand to help serve the meal with hosts Joe and Connie Risi. Santa's coming Parents are reminded to bring their children to see Santa Claus at the Zurich Co-op on Saturday, De- cember 7 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. And don't forget to mark your cal- endars for the Lions Club annual Christmas day for the kids that will be held at the arena on Saturday, December 21 at 2 p.m. Bake sale This weekend following the Sun- day Masses at St. Boniface the Sunday School group will be hav- ing a bake sale in the Narthex. Any donations and support are most welcome. Bible society The Bible Society's annual meet- ing was held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church fellowship hall on Sunday. CWL meeting The SL Boniface CWL Christmas meeting and potluck supper will be held on Tuesday, December 10. Brownies The Brownies have a busy sched- ule coming up. At their meeting on Tuesday, December 10 they will sing Christmas carols for the resi- dents at the Rest Home in Zurich. On December 17, their last meet- ing until January 7, moms and daughters will share in the annual Christmas potluck supper at St. Boniface school gym beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fund raiser Everyone is welcome to attend a communityfund raisingevent which will be held at the Zurich Public School in the gym on Thurs- day, December 12 from 7-9 p.m. Various distributors will be on hand with their goods to help you with Christmas shopping. Even Santa will be on hand to talk to the kids. Admission is free and door prizes are available to be won. Sarnia tour Anyone interested in going on a one day bus tour to see the Celebra- tion of Christmas Lights in Sarnia on Sunday, December 15 is asked to phone Rini Erb at 236-4052 or Gerue Fleischauer at 236-4358 as soon as possible. The trip will also include dinner and entertainment. Senior diners Nearly 100 seniors from Grand Bend, Dashwood, Bayfield, Hensall and Zurich attended the second an- niversary dinner celebration of the Zurich Senior Diners held last Wednesday. Tammy .Antaya wel- comed everyone. Margaret Hess won the 50/50 draw and door prizes were won by Frieda Keller, and 'Alden Wolfe. Anita Bengaugh was the winner of a Christmas floral arrangement do- nated by Marj Schilbe. A poem was given by Birdie Finkbeiner. Leona McBride, gm Gla- dy s Van Egmond and' Mozart Geli- nas Sr. treated everyone to trumpet, banjo, guitar, accordion and piano music. Nine tables of euchre were also enjoyed. Personals Best wishes for a speedy recov- ery to Josie Denomme who is a pa- tient in St. Joseph in London. Birthday greetings go out to Percy Bedard, Jeanne Hay, Justin Soudant, and Stephanie Gelinas, and best wishes to Pat and Jane Bedard on their anniversary. Ivan and Marge Meidinger have moved from their apartment in town into the former home of Mar- garet Kalbfleisch on Bismark St. Christmas party for Blue Water residents ZURICH - Sunday was the residents annual fami- ly Christmas. One of a number that has taken place over the past years. Families change from year to year, so we are pleased that the residents have the opportunity to invite their families to share a Christ- mas dinner and see what our facility has to offer their parents. The weather was splendid and visitors attended from Toronto, Sarnia, Windsor, Detroit, Kingston, Goderich, London, Hensall, Clinton, Exeter and the surrounding areas making the guest list a record one. This function would of course be impossible without the help of the Auxiliary ladies, some of the Board Members and their wives and all other volun- teerswho helped serve in the dining rooms as well as the kitchen. Musicians for the afternoon were Grace Martin and Catherine Shantz who played organ and piano duets, Audrey Haberer with organ music 'and Idella Gabel who altemated between the organ and piano. Many visitors remarked on how much they enjoyed the musical background while they visited. Get well wishes are extended to Lucinda Keller, a patient in South Huron Hospital. Residents are busy during the week with various activities. Shuffle- board is a favourite past time along with different card games and crokinole. The Thursday afternoon chapel service was con- ducted by Rev. Douglas Wright of Hensall United church. Fr. Peter Hayes celebrated mass for his par- ish. Bingo was played on Friday evening. December 5 there will be a group committee meeting at Hensall Pub- lic School at 7:15 p.m. The Hensall Kinette Club would like to remind everyone of their an- nual "Flower of Hope Poinsettia" sale to be held Friday, December 6 from 2-8:30 and Saturday, Decem- ber 7 from 9-12. The sale will be in the Town Council chambers so be sure to stop in while attending the tree lighting ceremony Friday evening. The Kinettes have already sold over 200 poinsettias to Hensall and Exeter businesses who have once again generously supported this sale.
