DASHWOOD - The Good Com-
panions Christmas dinner was held
last Monday at the centre with 41
members and two visitors enjoying
progressive euchre.
Prizes were won by Madeline
Swcitzer, Nola Lewis, Dareen
Lightfoot, Mary Regier, Hedy De-
vine, Noreen McCann, Mary Fee
and Wilmer Pfaff.
The next meeting is Monday,
January 20 at 2 p.m. at the Commu-
nity Centre with Group V and con-
venor Martha Pfaff as hostess.
Twenty-five Good Companion
members attended the second anni-
versary of the Zurich Seniors Diner
Club, last Wednesday.
The Area church services cele-
brated the first Sunday of Advent,
December 1. Calvary United
Church Dashwood minister, Gary
Carruthers spoke on the Signs of
Redemption. The fust Advent Can-
dle ceremony was read and lit by
Jim, Donna, Kelly, Jamie and Brent
Hoffman.
The Middlesex County Singers
will be presenting a "Noel" Concert
Sunday, December 15, 7:30 p.m. at
Calvary United Church.
Tuesday, December 10 the Ecu-
menical service will take place with
all the Grand Bend churches partic-
ipating in the program. The guest
speaker, Rev. David Mack of Lon-
don will be sharing his trip to India.
Lucan
Seniors
LUCAN - The last meeting of the
Lucan Senior Citizens for Novem-
ber met as usual in the Scout Hall
with Chris Hall presiding.
0 Canada was sung with Mary
Kooy pianist. The minutes were
read an approved.
Jean Miller gave the monthly
treasurer's report. A receipt was re-
ceived from the Heart and Stroke
foundation for a donations received
in memory of Jessie Lewis. Harry
Noels moved cheques be issued to
the Scout Hall and Palliative Care,
also to the Legion for our Christ-
mas dinner December 5. Mary
Scott seconded.
A letter was read from the Salva-
tion Army witha request for fun

The Seniors are invited to the Le-
gion on December 4 at 6:30 p.m.
Chili to be served and a program
later by Ellison Travel.
Harry Noels reported tickets for
the Seniors' games will be for sale
after the New Year. All members
are requested to buy tickets wheth-
er participating or not as this is a
source of income for the games.
The Christmas program was dis-
cussed. Mary Scott offered to make
the tickets for the gift exchange.
Jean Miller suggested we have a
singsong as our entertainment. Gre-
ta Gibson said she would ask Muri-
al to accompany the singing and
ask Jean Lankin for the loan of her
keyboard.
Mildred Hirtzel and Howard Do-
lan are on the lunch committee for
December 12. Helen MacDonald
and Marion Noels agreed to help as
the Nursery School children will be
entertaining us.
This meeting will be the last
meeting of this year for 1991. Next
meeting January 2, 1992 will be
potluck at 12:30.
The meeting adjourned for cards
and crafts. Winners were Helen
Cunningham, Dorothy Darling,
Charlotte Barker, George Cunning-
ham, Jim Davis, Murray Carter.

Centralia

CENIRALIA - The turkey sup-
per at the United Church on Thurs-
day evening was a real success
sponsored by Centralia Stewards.
Christmas music was enjoyed with
Chubb McCurdy and Centralia or-
ganist playing.
The Sunday School Christmas
concert will be held on December
15 at 7 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle.
Next Sunday, December 8 the an-
nual Santa Claus parade will travel
through town.
At the euchre at Centralia Com-
munity centre prize winners were:
High score Doris Hamilton, Bob
Blair Lone hands Iva Blair, Lily
Swartz (playing man's card); Low
score Jean Henn, Nelson Squires.
Next euchre December 9 at 8 p.m.
Ladies please bring lunch.
