Brydges 5-0 to win the bantam consolation title at - the Zurich am tournament. Big tournament this weekend EXETER - Get ready hockey fans because this is the big minor hockey weekend in Exeter. Beginning Friday night at 6:30 p.m. when the Exeter atoms will take on Clinton, it is the annual Ndvice,lAtom/Peewee'CC' Tournament. This year's event is called the Bill Bauer Tournament, named after the former Times -Advocate editor who devoted many years to minor hockey. The Exeter peewees play their first game on Friday night at 9 p.m. when they take on Thedford and bright and early at 8 a.m. the Exeter novices faceoff against Parkhill. Dorchester dominates Zurich tournament ZURICH - Dorchester and Wal- pole Island squared off in both the bantam and peewee finals of the an- nual Zurich tournament here on the weekend and it was Dorchester winning both. In the bantam game, it took dou- ble overtime but Dorchester won 5- 4 while it was 5-2 in the peewee game. The 16 -team tournament was played at the Babe Siebert Memori- al Arena and was held Friday and Saturday with the finals on Sunday afternoon. Zurich bantams managed to get to the semis where they were beat- en 7-4 by Walpole Island. Chad. Ramer led Zurich with two goals with singles from Steven Geiger and Dwight Gingerich. A 4-1 victory started the tourna- ment for the hosting bantam team as they beat Mt: Brydges. Trailing 1-0, Zurich came becck'lo: win as = Geiger had two tallies with singles from Ramer and Jeff McLaren. Peewee play saw the Zurich squad take an early exit as they dropped their opener 5-3 to Ste- phen Township Sharks. Jeff Glavin led the Sharks with two goals and a pair of assists. Also scoring for Ste- phen were Derek Swietzer, Darryl Parsons and Ben McCann. Five goals in the third period saw Zurich bow 4-3 to Thedford on Sunday morning. Eric Lecompte had two for Zurich with the other from Corey Wildfong. Stephen was eliminated as they fell 3-1 to Dorchester. Nick Pfaff scored the lone Sharks goal. :>: '•..:..! •...
