The Penny Sale is the Precious Blood CWL's only fundraiser of the year, and it featured a quilt raffle, a bidding auction, a fish pond for the children ,and a bake table in addition to the penny sale at the Exeter Legion. • Golden Glimpses Blue Water Rest Home ZURICH - The change in weath- er conditions has forced the resi- dents to change the course of their walks from outside to the inside corridors. The Christian Reformed church choir have pleased the residents with their messages in music each month, also the Zurich Mennonite choir were present to help celebrate Thanksgiving Sunday. The October birthday party was hosted by the Ladies of Exeter James St. United Church. The pro- gram and refreshments were very much appreciated. Residents hav- ing birthdays during the month were: Aaron Gingerich, Fern Love, Sophie Mischke, Laura Stewart and Edwin Martene. Birthday gifts were presented, courtesy of the La- dies Auxiliary. A former resident of the Blue Water Highway, Noel La Porte is welcomed as a new resident. A number of school age volun- T_ MCrti comain during the evening hours to help entertain the resi- dents, feed them, and in general help to cheer them. Residents enjoyed an outing last Friday afternoon by bus in and around Bayfield, thanks to Marc Chalut. Friday evening is bingo night and always popular with the residents. Festival Singers perform BLYTH • The Blyth Fstival Singers will be performing Han- del's Messiah Part 1 an November 24, at 2:30 and 7:3o p.tn. at Wes- ley Willis United Church, Clinton. This will be the first time in accent years that a local choir in our area has performed all, or even one segment of this well loved orato- rio. The 65 voice choir will be con- ducted by Wade Whittaker - Cumming of Stratford, director of the Blyth Festival Singers, with guest soloists from this are from 'Toronto and London. Pipe organ will be played by the choir accom- • panist Carol Carter of Saforth. In the first part of the concert die choir will sing several beautiful songs of the Christmas season. The second half of the program will be the presentation of the Christmas section of the Messiah. Members of the Huron Cantor - um of Goderich will be perform- ing with the choir. The Huron String School Orchestra and its di- rector violin -soloist Mayne Ras, will accompany some parts of the oratorio. The guest soloists are soprano Renee Stalenhoef of Auburn, con- tralto Sarah Parkinson of London, Blue Light Bowl ZURICH - The Ontario Five Pin Bowler's Association (O.F.P.B.A.) requires that all bowling teams in the Labau's Blue Light Sun Bowl, Blue Light Ontario Open, Black Tower Provincial. Team and O.F.P.B.A. Youth Challenge Tour- naments have full Canadian Five Pin Bowlers' Association (C.F.P.B.A.) Certified Level One Coaches. Selected team coaches must be fully C.F.P.B.A. certified by No- vember 30, 1991. Quafificetsons to betaine a CPABA. certified Level One Coach include success- ful completion of the the Level One Theory Course, the Master Bowlers' Association Technical , Course and at least one year's pre- vious coaching experience. The first ever Ontario Master Bowlers' Association Technical seminar was held in London in 1981. Bluewater 5 Pin Bowlers' Association coaches who graduated then include Grand Bend's former Master Bowlers Jean and Ron Dann who are presently coaching in the Youth Bowling Council ban- tam and peewee league at Zurich Town and Country lanes Saturday mornings. The Ontario Master Bowler's As- sociation has advised that Bluewa- ter 5 Pin Bowlers' Association Lev- el One coaches can attend Level Two Technical and Theory semi- nars scheduled for • Owen Sound, London and Kitchener during the 1991-92 bowling season. The O.F.P.B.A. has now an- nounced that all 1992-93 O.F.P.B.A. tournaments will re- quire coaches upgrading to full C.F.P.B.A. Certified Level Two qualifications.
