EXETER - The 1991-92 Panthers
High School hockey team has just
finished this years tryouts and
coach Paul Cronin is excited about
his squads game today against St.
Mikes, in Exeter.
"We had v ell over 60 skaters
show up for our first practice, and
trying to form a team of 22 players
was a difficult task."
Peter Heeney, the defensive co-
ordinator more enthusiastically stat-
ed "Going into the tryouts, we had
a strong nucleus from last year, and
any player that was lost, we were
fortunate enough to pick up some
other quality first year players to
fill in their spaces."
"Last years Panther team accom-
plished a great deal, advancing to
the Huron -Perth finals," said Cro-
nin. "However this season we are
looking for a championship and a
berth in WOSSA."
All home games this season will
be played at the South Huron Rec-
reation Centre in Exeter, at 2:00
p.m. Please plan to attend and en-
joy the fast action of High School
hockey.

EXETER - On Saturday, Novem-
ber 2, the senior girls basketball
team from South Huron competed
in a tournament at Medway. Find-
ing the competition very tough, the
Panthers could not manage a win.
In their first game, the Panthers
found themselves up against the al-
ways -strong Parkhill team. Al-
though a final score of 58-19 does
not look very encouraging, the
team did not play all that bad. They
were able to show some strong de-
fensive play much of the game, but
were at a major height disadvan-
tage. The Panthers had a weak third
quarter in which the Marauders.
were able to run the score up.
Team co -captain Sheryl Oke sunk
10 points for South Huron.
The Panthers came up against
General Amherst in their second
game. The team played a better
game than the previous one but
were unable to take the victory.
The final score was 48-24 with
Amy Campbell scoring eight points
while Stacey 'Rrruman, Oke, and

On Wednesday all three South
Huron basketball teams hosted
Stratford Northwestern, and none
of the three teams were able to de-
feat the strong Huskies.
The senior game was very intense
throughout, and the Panthers
played well despite a 29-18 loss.
The height of the Northwestern
team proved to hurt South Huron's
chances at victory. The loss was an
encouraging one for the Panthers,
though, since in their previous
