offee, tea and cookies for those who wished to sit awhile and enjoy some company. There

DASHWOOD - Good Compan-
ions Sr. Citizens held their October
meeting, Monday, October 28 at
the Dashwood Community centre.
Thirty-four members and one vis-
itor observed a moment of silence
in memory of two departed mem-
bers, Erma Wein and Ward Kraft.
Receipts from the "Bakeless
Bake Sale" were sent to several
charitable organizations in the dis-
trict.
An invitation has been accepted
to attend the Second Anniversary
of the Zurich Seniors on Wednes-
day, November 27. The group III
convener Pearl Miller presented a
humourous skit "Buying Eggs" fol-
lowed by a quiz conducted by
Katherine Becker.
Women's Institute
The Dashwood WI had 13 tables
of euchre on Wednesday, October
30. The winner for the evening in-
cluded Loreene McCann, Anthony
Marlene, Annie Finkbeiner, Gerrie
McCrae, Margaret Hess and Gloria
Beierling.
Friedsburg
Saturday, the Appreciation night
for the Friedsburg volunteers was
held at the community centre.
Bob Reschke welcomed everyone
and thanked them for their contin-
ued supporlfor the past 20 years.
The 1992 executive was intro-
duced - Tom and Elaine Hayter,
Chuck and Val Ford, Erik and
Kaethe Freiter, Ron and Ruth Ann
Merner and Bob and Barbara
Reschke.
Reschke encouraged all the peo-
ple present to auend an organiza-
tional meeting January 15. This
meeting will address the request for
financial donations to the commu-
nity non profit organizations. The
executive are in dire need of new
members.
Reschke presented Kathy Hayter,

hung in the community centre, that

The Zurich Diners are sponsoring

tions by noon Mondays by calling

Bean Festival appreciation
There will be an appreciation din-
ner for those who helped with the
1991 Zurich Bean Festival last Au-
gust. The dinner on November 17
will be held a the Dominion Tavern
starting with a social hour at 5 p.m.
While there is no charge to volun-
teers, reservations have to be made
by November 8 by calling the Bank
of Montreal at 236-4384.

Right to Life membership dues
were collected at the past two
weekend masses at St. Boniface
Church. Anyone who was missed
can contact Joan Regicr at 236-
4289, and can also register to at-
tend the Right to Life dinner in
Stratford on November 14.
CWL Bazaar
The St. Bonifac CWL's parish ba-
zaar was once again a success due
to everyone who worked to make it
possible,
The winner of the tulip quilt
drawn at the bazaar was Alice Nei -
lands of Hensel'. The crib -size
quilt was won by Anita Bengough,
also of Hensall.

ZURICH - Visitors from London
and Stratford joined the Zurich
Senior Diners last Wednesday for
the Hallowe'en dinner and party.
The community centre was deco-
rated in a Hallowe'en theme. Eight
ladies came dressed in various Hal-
lowe'en costumes. Tammy Antaya
welcomed everyone and also in-
formed the diners of upcoming
events.
Marilee Ayotte was chosen for
having the best costume and Mari-
on Becker for the prettiest pump-
kin.
The 50/50 draw was won by Jean
Meyer of London. Marion Becker
read a Hallowe'en poem.
Happy anniversary was sung for
Randy and Kathy Clark of Grand
Bend.

Heidi Klopp will be celebrating
her third birthday next Tuesday.
A bridal shower was recently
held at the Zurich Mennonite
Church for Karen Steckle who will
be married in Zurich on November
16.
Wishes for a speedy recovery go
to Rudolph Corriveau who is cur-
rently a patient in South Huron
Hospital. Doug Willett and Mar-
