First season
of Renew in
Mount Carmel
MT. CARMEL - Our Lady of
Mt. Carmel and Precious Blood
Mission, Exeter, are now halfway
through the first Season of Renew
which focuses on "The Lord's
Call".
Renew is a spiritual process to
help parishioners develop a closer
relationship with Christ. It accepts
people as they are and gives them
time and space to grow spiritually
and at their own pace.
The first two weeks of a six week
program have dealt with the love
and healing power of God and its
relationship with Holy Scripture.
This week God calls us as a family
with the background scripture of
Romans 8: 31-39 and Colossians 3:
12-17. The family should provide a
seting for the development of love,
fidelity,' understanding, sharing and
a permanent commitment.
Seven discussion groups in the
parish meet weekly and focus on
the theme of. that week. The aim is
to introduce people to scripture and
encourage them to reflect on their
own faith journey. Renew has a
strong emphasis on praying for the
spiritual growth of everyone in the
community. To achieve this end,
Renew asks for your personal
prayer for its success.
