ZURICH - Despite the adverse
weather conditions, 16 brownies
and three adults left by bus on
Thursday for Camp Keewaydin
north of Goderich. With no school
on Friday, they were joined by 12
more brownies and four additional

ities such as making Hallowe'en
candy, playing games and ung
crafts and baking for badges. They
also enjoyed a hike to the beach.
The Zurich cubs and scouts had a
successful Apple Day on Saturday.
Ducharme Orchards provided the
apples. Group committee leaders
are still needed and if interested,

Bazaars
Two bazaars will be held this
Saturday. The St. Boniface bazaar
will be held in their school gym
from 10-3 p.m. and the Bean
Sprout nursery will be held at die
Zurich Public School from 10-2
p.m.
Public Skating
Public skating is now open for
kids at the Zurich Arena beginning
Saturday at 2:45 p.m. and on Sun-
day at 1:30. Moms and tots can
skate on Monday mornings.

The Optimist Club will be spon-
soring a free family bowling party
at Town and Country Lanes on No-
vember 2 from 1-5 p.m.
Ladies auxiliary
The Ladies Auxiliary meeting
will be held at the Rest Home on
Tuesday, November 5 at 7 p.m.
Plans will be made for the fall ba-
zaar to be held at the home on No-
vember 9 from 2-4 p.m. Donations
for the bake table will be appreciat-
ed.
Harvest dance
A Harvest Dance will be held at
the Zurich Community Centre on
November 16 from 9-1 a.m., spon-
sored by the Knights of Columbus.
Tickets are $6 dollars, including
lunch, and are available from
Ralph Smith.
Blishen report
There will be a meeting at St.
Boniface School today, Wednes-
day, regarding the Blishen Report
on Catholic education. It will be
presented by Dennis MacKey, Re-
ligion Consultant for the school
board.
Leaf pickup
The next leaf pickup date in Zu-
rich will be Monday, November 4.
Have them ready in bags by the
curb.
Voice of Leo
Guest speakers last week's meet-
ing included PID Lion Bruce Mur-
ray and PDH Lion Dr. Jim Loucks
from St. Marys. President Doug
Turkheim chaired the meeting.
The club has changed their agen-
da so so that only one dinner meet-
ing will be held per month, that be-
ing the third Monday. The first
Monday will be strictly of business
at a directors' home. The club re-
cently donated $2,000 to the arena
fund and $150 towards the pur-
chase of a new piano for Dining for
Seniors. The next meeting will be
at Kevin Oke's, Novber 11.
Senior diners
Sally Lawton welcomed 35 din-
ble of progressive euchre were en-
joyed.
Agricultural society
The annual district dinner meet-
ing of the agricultural society was
held in Kirkton Tuesday. In atten-
dance was ambassador of the Zu-
rich Fair, Aimee Gelinas.
Renew
The theme for the second week
of Renew is "God Heals Us." This
is a program of spiritual renewal
for the entire parish. Small faith
sharing groups are taking place
throughout the week.
Youth group
The youth group held their first
meeting for the fall on Sunday in
the church basement at St. Boni-
face.
Personals
The family of Ron and Sharon
Schroeder held a Thanksgiving din-
ner at their home.
Mel and Mary -Ellen Gingerich
recently visited daughter and son-
in-law Darla and Dean Miller in
Sturgis, Michigan.
Tiffany and Brittany Eybergen
are visiting with Sweeney grand-
parents and Eybergen grandparents
for the week.
Don and Elaine Beauchamp and
family along with Renee Sweeney
spent the weekend visiting in the
U.S.
Laurene Corriveau returned home
after two weeks in California visit-
ing son and daughter-in-law Peter
and Karen as well as grandson
Kyle. She also visited with her sis-
ter, Anne Primrose in Millbrae,
California.

Sweeney families travelled to Dor-
chester on Friday night where they
attended a surprise 35th wedding
