Caven fall thankoffering
EXETER - Caven P.C.W. fall thankoffering was held Thursday eve-
ning October 15 with the Gordon Auxiliary and Jean Edmonds of
Mitchell our presbyterial visitor as guests. Beatrice Ersman, president,
opened the meeting and welcomed all.
The group sang several well known Thanksgiving hymns, accompa-
nied by Sharon McNeilly. Psalm 654 was read in unison followed by
prayer.
Margaret Strang ave a special Thanksgiving for the lifoof Norah
Taylor; mentioning talents used in so many ways' in the Life
of Caven. When due to her he was unable to attend the meet-
ings she did what she could at home; a made ribbons for Korea and
was the inspiration for Caven's banner for the 75th Anniversary of the
W.M.S. Susan Moore sang in her memory: "Beyond the Sunset".
Hazel Pryde on behalf of the ladies presented Life Memberships in
the WMS to Judy Dalrymple and Carol Finlayson.
Introduced by Edna Simmons, Jean Edmunds, second vice president
of Stratford Huron brought greetings and in her message reminded us
of how much we have to be thankful for. It is important for us to ex-
press openly our Thanksgiving as Christian people.
The Stratford Huron Presbyterial Rally will be held in Atwood Octo-
ber 24 with morning and afternoon sessions.
A social time followed, around a decorated table of mums and fruit,
hosted by Flag Flag and Margaret Strang.

Marion Skinner. The first rum-
mage sale was held in 1954
and raised $450. The sales
had been held at the hosp7tal
itself, the Legion, a hangar in
Huron Park, a car dealer and
at the rec centre which was
the scene of last Wednesday
and Thursday's sale.
Queensway residents busy
HENSALL - Queensway resi-
dents were recipients of a wonder-
ful Thanksgiving Church Service
delivered by Rev. Phillips of Varna
and Goshen United Churches. Pia-
nist was Anna Keys, with special
music by Carol Gascho and Joyce
Pepper.
tl Games Hour, was held Wednes-
' day with Auxiliary Volunteers.
Residents played crokinole, check-
ers and euchre. Rev. Stojkovic,
Queensway's volunteer Chaplain
was in Wednesday afternoon for
visitation with several residents.
Auxiliary volunteers have been
busy soliciting local businesses for
useful items for the Penny Sale
which will be part of our Craft and
Bake Sale, November 13 from 2
p.m. to 4 p.m. We welcome any
craft or baking items you would
like to make.
Wednesday's evening move "The
Al Jolsen Story" played to a full
house Thursday evening. Many res-
idents remembered seeing it several
years ago and thoroughly enjoyed
this showing.
Dorothy Brintnell and Marlene
Peck provided pampering and man-
icures at Ladies Hour Thursday af-
ternoon. This is a favourite activity
for many of our women who like
the long relaxing hand soaks and
fragrant lotion massages along with
whatever nail polish they choose.

A person who has been appointed a proxy may apply to the
Clerk not later than 5 o'clock in the afternoon of PoNing Day to
receive a certificate to vote by proxy for the Polling Subdivision in
which the person appointing the voting proxy is entitled to vote.
