(41') ( Stabilization deadline for potatoes TORONTO - The enrolment deadline for the third and final year of the Ontario Farm Income Stabili- zation Plan for Fresh Market Pota- toes is October 31, 1991. To be eligible for the plan, pro- ducers must complete, sign and re- turn an enrolment form. They must ensure that licence fees have been fully paid to the Ontario Fresh Po- tato Growers' Marketing board to be eligible for payment. No fee or crop production estimates are re- quired. Producers who enrolled in 1989 for the three-year plan will receive acknowledgement of their enrol- ment later this fall. Stabilization payments are made when the past year's market price is below the five-year average price. The total government payment is equal to the difference between the market price and 95 percent of the stabilization price. The federal plan stabilizes up to 90 percent of the stabilization price and the provin- cial plan stabilizes from 90 to 95 percent. Any payment will equal two - third of the government contribu- tions while the remaining one-third will be deducted to cover premium fees. Enrolment forms are available from OMAF field offices or Crop Insurance and Stabilization Branch, Ministry of Agriculture and Food, 5th Floor, 801 Bay Street, Toronto, M7A 1B7, the phone number is (416) 326-3301. Theatre successful BLYTH - "It's the end of my first season as Artistic Director of the Blyth Festival and I'd say it was a great success" says Peter Smith. "We brought in over $530,000 at the Box Office - our biggest in- come ever, and the Ted Johns com- edy, Two Brothers drew over 10,000 people to Blyth Memorial Hall. Layne Coleman's political Barbershop Quartet enjoyed 90 percent houses overall. Although our attendance of nearly 40,000 people is down seven percent from last year, the premiere of Sean Dix- on's The End of the World Romance brought in a fresh new audience to Blyth. As a result of visits from many artistic directors across this county, Romance will close Prairie Theatre Exchanges' season Winni- peg in 1992. Jim Nichol's The Stone Angel - the adaptation of Margaret Laurence's classic novel is enjoying capacity crowds at The- ater Passe Muraille in Toronto where it will appear until mid- October and a new production will take place in Halifax on the stage of the Neptune Theatre (directed by James Roy, founding artistic direc- tor of Blyth Festival)."
