ZURICH - The Ladies Auxiliary
held their monthly program and
meeting on Tuesday, October 1.
The program consisted of a reading
by Sidney Ramer, "Quit Suppo-
sin'. Idella Gabel pleased the audi-
ence with several piano solos. Jim
Ramer and Dan Bisson played their
guitars accompanied by Delores
Gingerich playing the piano.
Marie Gingerich gave a reading
on Thanksgiving and Jill Ramer
and Valerie Gingerich sang a duet.
Geri Fashions of London will be
displaying their clothing at the
Home on Thursday, October 17
from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The
public are invited to come and shop
or just visit and browse.
Thanks to Marc Chalut, residents
were able to go on a bus tour on
Friday afternoon around the area to
view the autumn scenery.
We welcome Ellen McGonigal
back from South Huron Hospital.
The sympathy of residents and
staff is extended to the family of
the late Marie Oesch.
Rev. Stephen Alles conducted the
weekly chapel service on Thursday
afternoon followed by Mass cele-
brated by Fr. Peter Hayes.
The seniors appreciate the dona-
tions of materials for the craft shop.
Thank you for all the pine cones
and the large donation of craft ma-
terials from Bernice Stephenson of
Grand Bend.
Congratulations to Edwin Mar-
ten who celebrated his 79th birth-
day surrounded by his family on
Sunday.
Noon
luncheon
in Hensall

HENSALL - The Carmel Presby-
terian Church Women are holding
a noon luncheon on Tuesday, Octo-
ber 22, 1991 from 11:15 to 1:30
p.m. For tickets call 263-6349 or
262-2318.
The Hensall Kinsmen will host a
farm toy show and sale on Sunday,
October 20 from 10 am. to 4 p.m.
Admission is two dollars at the
Hensall Community Centre.
Senior Games conference
GRAND BEND - The Grand
Bend Agers Club members attend-
ed their October meeting last
Wednesday at the Royal Canadian
Legion.
President Ron Dann conducted
the meeting and gave a report on
the Ontario Senior Games Confer-
ence at Cedar Glen near Bolton. He
had given a report on the success of
the first ever Ontario Senior Re-
gional Games held August 19 and
hosted by the Grand Bend Golden
Agers Club, following which con-
ference delegates decided to hold
Regional Games all across the
province in 1993.
London's Seniors will be hosting
the 1993 Southwestern Ontario Re-
gional Games. Meanwhile, next
year's Huron -Perth -Middlesex Dis-
trict Games are slated for St. Marys
and will be followed by the Ontario
Senior Actifest Games at Hamilton

Bend Golden Agers. Tonight
(Wednesday) is the regular euchre
party, 7:30 p.m. at the Legion. Oc-
tober 23 is the date of the next eu-
chre.
Some members will be attending
the Fall Rally of the United Senior
Citizens of Ontario Zone 8 meeting
Tuesday, October 22, at the Clinton
Legion hall at 1 p.m.
The next Golden Agers meeting
will be Wednesday, November 13,
1:30 at the Royal Canadian Legion.

Garland took Earl and Marguerite
out for a surprise anniversary din-
ner.
Earl and Marguerite then attend-
ed the release of Peter Garland's
first novel. The book, entitled Per -
manent Echoes reflects upon Petet's
12 years as a radar operator with
the RCAF.
The family of Bob Latta also
took Earl and Marguerite out for
Sunday dinner to celebrate the
birthday of Marguerite.
