Lodge meeting in Granton

GRANTON - The ladies of Cant
Valentine Forester's Lodge met at
the Lion's Hall on Monday evening.
The president Marie Hiuser led
the business when an invitation
from Court Bluebell near Nairn
was accepted to hold the Installa-
tion of Officers on October 2 and a
gift was sent to a recently married
member.
A 5100 donation was given to
Murray Mitchell for supplies to
take to Guademala. The W. Ontario
Prov. Assembly is to be held at Ni-
agara Falls in November.
Marie Hiuser and Doris Spence
were appointed to take charge of
the Lions dinner on Wednesday,
September 25. Hiuser also won the
monthly draw.
The Nominating chairman Doris
Spence read the new slate of offi-
cers: president Marie Hiuser, vice
president Florence McRobert, sec-
retary Margaret Spence, treasurer
Dorothy Hem, conductor Doris
Spence, chaplain Vi Coward, and
Guard Nora Wissel.
Lunch was served by Elsie Dann
and Nora Wissel.
The Fish Fry supper was held
Sunday evening sponsored by the
Granton Consistory Club at the
Kirkton Community Centre.
Larry Lewis of London was
home in Granton over the weekend.
There was no service at the St.
Thomas' Anglican Church on Sun-
day, because of the Harvest
Thanksgiving service at St. Pat-
rick's, Saintsbury which a number

Voakes. His sermon was entitled Il-
logical, Unfair, but Blessed, based
on the lesson from Matthew 18.
Flowers in the sanctuary were
from the funeral of Luke Benner of
Luca' who died very suddenly on
Wednesday, September 25.
