Lucan UC parishioners enjoy concert
By Jean Hodgins
LUCAN - A youth band "Chaverim" from Vasey -
St. Johns -Ebenezer United Churches, near Midland,
presented contemporary Christian music in concert,
to a very appreciative audience, on Sunday evening
at Lucan United Church.
"Chaverim" began in 1986 and has grown musical-
ly, into the fully modern -sounding group it is today.
The young people range in age from 11 to 18. They
displayed a nicely balanced combination of musical,
technical and instrumental skill with youthful natu-
ralness and enthusiasm. Their music was contempo-
rary, appropriate, contagious and inspiring.
The Lucan U.C. Youth group enjoyed dinner with
them before the concert. The group travelled in vans
and were in Strathroy for two concerts Saturday eve-
ning and Sunday morning at Si Andrew's Presbyteri-
an Church.
After the concert in Lucan, they left for home near
Midland, for a short night before school on Monday.
