United Church. Rev. John Hil-
bom officiated. Lisa :s the
daughter of Allan and Hazel
Westcott and Will is the son
of Letty Stenason and the late
John Stenason. Matron of
honour was Lynda Giles sister
of the bride. Bridesmaids
were Patricia Westcott, Carol
Zwarych, Karen Tally, Julie
Evans, Ondina Love. Best
man was Ewan Abbott. Ush-
ers were Richard Westcott,
Andy McNabb, Dave Stena -
son, Greg Rohn and Paul Nie-
wegiswski, Karin Westcott,
niece of the bride was flower -
girl. Thomas Stenason, neph-
ew of the groom was ringbear-
er. Organist was Ralph Topp.
Soloist was Susan Gra-
ham.The wedding dinner and
reception was held at the Ex-
eter Golf Club. After a Carib-
bean cruise the couple is re-
siding in Montreal. We would
like to thank our family and
friends for sharing this spe-
cial day.
Centralia

CENTRALIA - The UCW of the
United Church will meet on Thurs-
day at 8 p.m. Program conveners
will be Aldeen Skinner, Jean Cas-
lick, Mildred Greb and Becky Har-
riet. Lunch committee will be Jean
Rook. Betty Rook, Glena Tripp ,
Audrey McFalls, Verda Gartley
and Irene 'Meander. Plans will be
made for the balloon craft show
and yard sale on Saturday at 9 a.m.
A special speaker will be present at
the UCW.

Gingerich - Schade
On June 1, 1991 at Zurich
Mennonite Church, Janice Pa-
tricia Schade and Marlow
Samuel Gingerich exchanged
wedding vows. Rev. Ephraim
Gingerich officiated. Parents
of the bridal couple are Jack
and Nile Schade of Dash-
wood and Donald and Sharon
Gingerich of Zurich. The maid
of honour was Karen Steckle
(friend of the bride) and at-
tendants were Julie Schade
and Monica Gingerich (sis-
ters of the bride and groom),
The best man was Kevin
Steckle (friend of the groom).
Ushers were Doug Schade
(brother of the bride) and
Darrel Gingerich (friend of the
groom). The ringbearer was
Michael Gingerich (brother of
the groom). After a honey-
moon in Emerald Isle, North
Carolina, the couple now re-
side at RR1 Tavistock.

and Area Chamber of Commerce
will be holding its next General
Meeting in the Council Chambers
at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8.
The Anglican Ladies of SL John's
By the Lake are hosting a Bake
Sale, with coffee and muffins avail-
able on Saturday, October 5, from
10 to 11:30 a.m.
An All Candidates Meeting for
Bosanquet Township will take
place in the Southcott Pines Club-
house on Saturday, October 19, be-
ginning at 10 a.m. This is your
chance to find out how the candi-
dates stand on a variety of impor-
tant local issues, so have your ques-
tions ready.
The Annual Farmers' Market,
sponsored by the Grand Bend and
Area Chamber of Commerce, will
be held on the weekend of October
19-20, with yard sales, crafts, fresh
produce, antiques, baking, and
more. Park your car and stroll
around town on a beautiful fall
weekend, and enjoy the fruits of
"harvest home" in Grand Bend.

Heart of Mary Parish, on their 40th
Wedding Anniversary.
The Catholic Women's League of
Grand Bend will be holding their
October meeting on Tuesday, Octo-
ber 8. Members are asked to bring
pennies for the Esk-Omi Missions,
and a small prize for bingo games,
following the meeting.
McCurdy School in Huron Park
is getting ready for Pioneer Days
on October 10-11. All students (K-
8) will be participating in a number
of Pioneer activities, from quilting
to square dancing, to watching a
steam engine in action. The school
hopes to have parents and other
members of the community come
in to demonstrate how to make ci-
der, sausage, rope, ice cream, can-
dles and other crafts, to share their
skills with the students.
Holy Communion
to be held Sunday

THAMES ROAD - Next Sunday
October 6 the Service of Holy
Communion was held at both
churches, followed by Fellowship
and refreshment.
Monday October 7 at 8 p.m. the
Thames Road UCW will be meet-
ing with Kathy Bray, June Stewart,
Margaret McCarter, Nancy Hod-
gert, in charge. The roll call is to
bring a vegetable or mum for deco-
rating for Thanksgiving or pay 25¢.
Wednesday October 9 a Session
meeting at 7:30 p.m. will be fol-
lowed by the official board meeting
at 8:30 p.m. at Thames Road Unit-
ed Church. Expected to attend are
Session, board of managers, S.S.
superintendents, UCW representa-
tives and any interested person. The
meetings will be held at Thames
Road instead of Elimville.
Confirmation class for grades
7,8,9 and older will meet Thursday
October 10 at the manse at 4 p.m.
The meeting will be from 4 to 5:30
p.m.
The Friends for Life is a new
group for ages 55 and older which
begins meeting this fall. First meet-
ing will be held Sunday October 20
at 6:30 p.m. including a short pro-
gram plus whatever you want to eat
at the 3 A's Restaurant in Exeter.
Come out and join in on the fellow-
ship.

During the service the rite of
baptism was administered to Ni-
cole Danielle daughter of Pete and
Elaine Kosi. Bill Rohde, clerk of
session presented baptismal certif-
icate and a New Testament on be-
half of the Session. Brenda Miner
presented Elaine with a flower on
behalf of the Sunday School.

last Thursday to the Ontario

Club Pheasantry near Simcoe and

Legion news
Jack Hoffman pulled off a three
dart -takeout with three doubles last
Tuesday night at the Grand Bend
Legion dart games. Betty Price and
Jim O'Neill won first place in the
pairs, with Marie Hudson and Bob
Chapdelaine placing second. Mari-
lyn Hutchinson took the Ladies
High score with 128 and Rick
Cross won the Men's with 140.
Winner of the 50/50 draw was Bet-
ty Price.
Winners of the Friday Meat Raf-
fle were Bob Hedley and Jean
Woods, Grant MacLinchey and Si-
mone Allen. Ms. Allen won three
times - what a lucky lady! Other
winners were John Steele, Murray
Smith and Kathleen Veno. Jean
Geisel won the Mystery Prize.
Alhambra news
Algarve #168, Order of the Al-
hambra, held an election dinner
meeting on Thursday, September
26. Sir nobles and their Sultanas
enjoyed a delicious dinner at the
Colonial Hotel, then the Sir Nobles
went to the Alhambra Hall for Elec-
tion of a new Divan and the Gener-
al Meeting.
During the business meeting,
chaired by new grand commander,
Casey Bax, the caravan voted to
donate $200 to the Youth Involve-
ment Ontario group of South Huron
District High School, to attend the
YIO annual convention, held in Ot-
tawa on November 1-3. The YIO
students form a support group of
friends, both inside and outside of
school, for the mentally and/or
physically challenged students who
attend Exeter High School. Ten stu-
dents and two teachers will be at-
tending the Ottawa Convention.
