The Bank of Montreal's 11 branches in their "rural north" area have chosen the Canadian Di-
abetes Association as this year's main recipient of employees' "Our People Fund" donations.
Representatives from the branches met in Exeter last Wednesday for breakfast and to consoli-
date plans for their upcoming fundraising campaign. They also presented a $500 cheque to
Mary Ellen Whaley, representative from the Diabetes Association. In front, from left are area
manager Peter McCallum, Whaley, and Paul Creighton. Behind are Liz Leatherland, Linda Ar-
nold, Sandy Mabon, Hellen Bulanda, Pat Thomas, Carol McClure, Anne Langendyk, Ruth Ginge-
rich, Norm Thompson, and cochairman of the Our People Fund Mike Dunbar.
Friendship Circle opens season

HENSALL - The Friendship Cir-
cle of Hensall United Church
opened the fall season September 9
with a pot luck supper at Shirley
McAllister's.
After fellowship over the meal a
short business period followed.
More United Church cookbooks
will be ordered by Mary Brintnell;
Kay Elder announced the Cancer
Awareness meeting at Hensall
United Church September 25, at
7:30 for everyone interested.
Shawn Wurm of Exeter, a Hen-
sall Venturer who went to the
World Jamboree in Seoul, Korea
where over 1900 scouts gathered
this summer brought many stories
and souvenirs to share with the
group. He also told of his side trips
to Japan and Hong Kong. As a re-
sult of the trip the Canadian contin-
gent has undertaken a project to fi-.
nancially assist a young Korean
girl with medical treatment. She
lost both legs in a freak car acci-
dent while she was playing at her
home and ended up in the hospital
at the same time as one of the Ca-
nadian delegates.
The next meeting will be held
October 7, at the Hensall United
Churchat8p.m.
Three Links Seniors
The Three Links seniors held
their September meeting at 6:30
p.m. with a pot luck supper. Eight-
een members and two guests at-
tended. Members of the executive
were installed by Ruby Bell.
The executive is as follows: pres-
ident Irene Blackwell, treasurer
Evelyn Flynn, secretary Dorothy
Brintnell, vice president Pearl
Taylor and Eileen Rannie, pianist
Hilda Payne, card convener Gertie
Moir and the quilt committee of
Pearl Taylor and Gertie Moir.
A minute of silence was ob-
served in memory of Nellie Riley.
The seniors are going to enter-
tain at Huronview on September
18 with the Hensall Swinging Sen-
