Annual fund raising dinner
set for Zurich

ZURICH - Tickets are on sale for the 25th anniver-
sary Fund Raising Dinner and Dance which will be
held on Saturday, October 5. The event will take
place in the Zurich Community Centre beginning at
6:30 p.m. The cost is $15 per person and tickets can
be found at the Rest Home or Bank of Montreal.
Terry Fox Run
Don't forget to take part in the Terry Fox Run
which will be held this Sunday. The event will be-
gin at 1:30 p.m. with registration at the Zurich Park.
Brownie registration
Brownie registration was held at St. Boniface
school on Tuesday night for girls ages six to nine. If
you missed out or wish to buy new or used uniforms,
please phone Debbie Overholt at 236-4700. Regis-
tration is $30.
The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sep-
tember 24 at St. Boniface School from 6:45 - 8 p.m.
Golden agers
Monday saw the first meeting of the Golden Agers
which began with a potluck supper in the Township
Hall. The Knights of Columbus meeting also took
place for the St. Boniface Council and a new season
of bowling began for the Ladies Monday Night
League.
Colour watch tour
Their is going to be a ladies colour watch tour to
the areas of Collingwood and Owen Sound, Satur-
day, September 21. If anyone is interested, contact
Doug Erb at 236-4052.

Congratulations to Darrel and Debra Gingerich
who were married recently at the Bethel Mennonite
Church in Elora.
Best wishes to Harold and Doreen Dietrich who re-
cently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.
Congratulations to Vicki and Bob Hay on the arri-
val of their baby boy who was born Sunday.
Little Nicholas Schilbe, son of Wayne and Jody,
was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Sun-
day, followed by a family get-together in the fellow-
ship hall.
Birthday wishes are extended to Darryl Rowan,
Dana Rowan, Cheryl Gelinas, Tiffany Eybergen and
Tim Klopp.
Happy anniversary to Martin and Cheryl Gelinas as
well as Wayne and Jody Schilbe.
Mozart and Marie Gelinas Sr. spent the weekend in
Midland attending a Knights of Columbus 4th degree
ceremony at the shrine.
Rose -Marie Rothenberg and son Jacob of Brantford
are presently spending a holiday in the area with her
grandparents, Mozart and Marie Gelinas Sr.
Bill and Carol Butler of Sarnia, accompanied by
her sister, Carmel Sweeney of Zurich, returned home
Sunday after a three week vacation travelling to Hal-
ifax by car. While there, the group attended the wed-
ding of their nephew, Kenzie and Joy Strickland at
the Sheffield Baptist Church followed by a reception
at the Sheraton Hotel.

SHIPKA - More than 30 attend-
ed a miscellaneous bridal shower
held last Friday night at Shipka
Community Centre for Pam Die-
trich, bride elect of mid September.
Social time games involved a
contest remembering old time song
titles, guessing articles in a paper
bag and remembering items in a
suitcase.
An address was read to Pam by
Dorothy Ratz, and she was assisted
opening gifts by her sister Tracey
Regier, matron of honor, and
bridesmaids Allison Thompson
and Donna Jean Dietrich.
Pam is the fiancee of Robert
Rammeloo.
Cassandra and Danielle Russell,
daughters of Don and Ann, spent
the weekend with their grandpar-
ents, Cliff and Velma Russell,
Dashwood.
Judy Snyder hosted a miscellane-
ous bridal shower, Sunday after-
noon at Shipka Community Centre
for her sister, Elaine Vincent, of
London. Games were conducted by
a friend Denean Renning.
Judy read an address to her sister
who was assisted opening gifts by
her bridesmaids Cathy Orr and
Heather Ball.
Elaine's finance is Tom Medland,
of London and they plan an early
October wedding.
Michelle Desjardine spent the
last week of August at the United
Church Camp Menesetung, north
of Goderich, before starting school.

Congratulations to Ken Baker on
the arrival Tuesday of his twelfth
grandchild, a baby girl Sarah Jane
was born to Nancy (Baker) Babich
and her husband Dr. Glenn Babich,
Lethbridge, Alberta. This is another
great grandchild for Emma Schilbe,
of Zurich.

held a very successful Bake and
Yard sale last week.
Michael and Suzanne Davis held
a birthday dinner for son Harley,
who was celebrating his fifth birth-
day.
Holy Communion was celebrated
at St. Patrick's at 11 a.m. Sunday
with Mary Jefferies reading the
scripture and Lisa Carroll as server
and Margaret Carroll as lay assist-
ant.
There will be no service at St,
Patrick's on September 15 as Gran-
ton are celebrating their Harvest
Service at 10 a.m.
Earl and Marguerite Greenlee
travelled to Wiarton this past week
on holidays.

GRAND BEND - The Grand
Bend Golden Agers Club members
met last Wednesday afternoon at
the Grand Bend Royal Canadian
Legion.
President Ron Dann conducted
the meeting and gave his report on
the United Senior Citizens of Onta-
rio 33rd Annual Convention, held
August 12-14, at Queens Universi-
ty, Kingston.
Later in the meeting, plans were
completed to have the first seniors
euchre of the season, 7:30 tonight,
at the Legion. Indoor senior games
days will be held at the Legion eve-
ry Tuesday and Thursday, starting
Tuesday, October 1 at 1 p.m. Shuf-
fleboard, euchre, darts and other
games will be featured. Everyone,
55 years and over is welcome.
The president further reported
that the Southwestern Ontario Sen-
ior Regional Games, hosted by the
Grand Bend Golden Agers Club,
held August 19, were very success-
ful both competitively and finan-
cially. He will be presenting a re-
port of the games September 30 -
October 1 at the Ontario Senior
Games Bolton Conference in the
hope that Regional Games will
spread across' the province in 1993.

old-time fair will take place Septemba 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to 4:30
