Lions barbecue makes its return
EXL 1•ER - What used to be an annual family
event in Exeter in the 1970s may be making a
come back.
The Exeter Lions Club held their first Beef Bar-
becue Sunday afternoon at the South Huron Rec-
reation Centre. Some club members guessed that
it had possibly been 15 years or more since the
last one was held, but all said they were deter-
mined to bring it back to its former annual status.
About 250 people attended the dinner, paying $8
a ticket, $4 for children. Meat for the barbecue
was donated and prepared by Darling's Food Mar-
ket.
Lions organizers also said that if all goes well,
they may be able to provide some entertainment
to accompany the dinner next year.
The ddinner ws held as a fundraising event for
the club's programs.
