HENSALL - A trip to the Clin-
`on Harness Races Sunday after -
boon wee_the highlight of the
week for several Queensway resi-
dents. The weather was beautiful
and a picnic lunch enjoyed before
the races added to a great day. Our
thanks to Linda and Connie
Oingerich, volunteer helpers fol.'
the afternoon.
Hawaii created lots of interest as
the focus for our International Day
on Friday. Artifacts were provided
courtesy of Marilyn Hern, whose
daughter is a nurse in Hawaii. Res-
idents browsed through coral,
dried Itis, wood carvings, macada-
mia nuts, jewelry, muu muu's and
much more. We reviewed infor-
mation about Hawaii, and to end
our afternoon, snacked on Hawai-
ian pineapple cake and tea while
listening to Luau music.
Wildlife documentaries on
bears and antelope were featured
at Wednesday's movie night,
viewed by a large audience.
Residents continue to benefit
from our Friday barbecues, and we
hope suitable weather stays with
us through September.
Coming events: August 29 birth-
day party with entertainment by
Clare Masse and Rand.
