The weekend kicked off Friday evening with a dance at the pavilion, and was fol- lowed by Saturday's endless line activities. One of the ar- eas longest parades started off the second day of events. The theme, Remember When ... enticed many Dashwood residents and local business- es to create imaginative floats. Following the parade, an afternoon at the Dashwood pavilion consisted of the crowning of Miss Frieds- burg, the introduction of for- mer winners who had re- turned to celebrate the anniversary, mini -tractor pull, children's sing -a -long, body painting contest, arm wrestling, and the traditional Rhine Danube Dancers from Leamington demonstrating the German heritage. Chosen few - Winners of the 20th annual Miss Friedsburg contest include: First runner-up Melanie Rader, sponsored by Merner's Meats; Miss Friedsburg Becci Farquhar, sponsored by Becker Farm Equipment; and Second runner-up Carli Tiernan, sponsored by McCann Redi Mix. - t Enthusiastic floaters - Good Companions Senior Citizens demonstrate the theme, Re- member When...
