NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENT
VILLAGE OF GRAND BEND,
TOWNSHIP OF BOSANQUET
In July, 1984, the Village of Grand Bend passed a by-law ini-
tiating procedures under the Municipal Boundary Negotiations
Bend Act, 1981. Basically, Grand Bend wished its boundaries to be
extended to include at least the urbanized part of Bosanquet
Township adjacent to the Village. The township's response
was that both municipalities would be better served by amalga-
mation - with the entire.area served by one council. No agree-
ment had been reached when the negotiations were broken off
by the Minister of Municipal Affairs pending the outcome of the
Lambton County/Sarnia/Clearwater negotiations.
The Sarnia-Lambton Act, was enacted on July 13, 1989. Sec-
tion 34 of the Act provided that all Boundary Act applications
were vested with a Boundary Application Committee appointed
by Lambton County Council.
The Committee held public meetings on Wednesday, January
24 and Thursday, January 25, 1990 as directed in Section 37
(4) of the Act, in order to obtain information, comments and
opinions regarding this application.
Meetings have been held between the affected councils and
with the Committee. To clarify the discussion and narrow the
issues, on January 31, 1991, the committee issued a prelimi-
nary report recommending that the Village not be amalgamat-
ed with the Township and that approximately 150 acres of land
from Part Lots 3, 4 and 5, L.R.E. and L.R.W. Concessions, Bo-
sanquet be added to the Village of Grand Bend.
The Committee has prepared a draft of the final report setting
out the details of the boundary adjustment. Copies of this Draft
Report will be available at the Municipal Offices of the Town-
ship of Bosanquet, the Village of Grand Bend and at the
County of Lambton Offices in Wyoming on Wednesday, Au-
gust 7.
Under Section 37(5) of the Sarnia-Lambton Act, the Committee
must hold a second public meeting to obtain submissions and
comments from the public in respect of the contents of the
Draft Report. Amendments may be made before the report is
recommended to County Council for approval and is passed
on to the Minister of Municipal Affairs for consideration.
A second public meeting will be held on:
Thursday, August 22, 1991
7:30 p.m.
Royal Canadian Legion
8 Ontario Street North Grand Bend
For further information, please contact the Clerk -Treasurer of
the Township of Bosanquet or the Village of Grand Bend or:

NOT TO MOW THE LAWN.
Electrical equipment such as lawnmowers, hedgetrimmers edgers,

dry. Water conducts electricity and can magnify the effect of any
accident or problem with your
equipment. And no matter what
the weather, it pays to check
your tools periodically to ensure
that they're in good condition. If
you're using extension cords, use
only heavy-duty 3 -prong cords.
And of course, all of your equipment including extension cords
should be CSA approved. Sure we want you to keepyour lawns
