Grand Bend Women's Institute
By Roberta Walker
GRAND BEND - The monthly
meeting of the Grand Bend Wom-
en's Institute was held on June 20,
when members gathered at Clan
MacGregor Park in Bayfield for a
picnic lunch. President Donna Lo -
vie conducted the business. It was
voted to share the costs of a sesqui-
centennial wall hanging with two
other Stephen Township Women's
Institutes.
A committee was chosen to ar-
range activities for a Huron South
picnic in Crediton on June 26.
Plans were finalized for an October
Pie Sale. Orders for apple and
pumpkin pies will be taken in Sep-
tember. Hilda White volunteered to
create an exhibit for the Agricultu-
ral Museum at Milton.
It was agreed that the club won't
be entering an exhibit for the Zu-
rich and Exeter Fairs this year. A
total of 34 hours of volunteer time
was recorded from the members. A
tour of the Folmar Windmill, the
only working wind -driven sawmill
left in North America, concluded
the enjoyable afternoon.
