Carty leads Royals to victory
SEBRINGVILLE - Pitcher Den-
nis Carty had 12 strikeouts and
went the distance in an extra in-
ning game Thursday night as the
Exeter Royals edged the host Se-
bringville Royals 6-5 in South
Perth Men's Fastball League ac-
tion.
The winning nm came in the
1 1th inning when Carty singled,
was replaced by pinch runner Rod
Johnston who advanced on Jim
Tigers roar into town

Sandy Hyde's ground out.
Exeter held a 3-1 lead in the third
inning on singles by Dan Heywood,
Brian Noyes and Damen Neil. Hey-
wood and Neil teamed up for an-

Saturday as they will put on a clinic
for local hardball players.

in senior games
LISTOWEL - It certainly wasn't
a pitching duel here on Thursday
as the Exeter Express lost a 14-12
decision to Listowel in Great
Lakes Senior Baseball League ac-
tion. -
Everyone was hitting on both
sides but Kevin Hem of the Ex-
press swung the biggest bat as he
clubbed a three run homer in the
first inning and another three run
shot in the seventh. Hem hitting in
the designated hitters spot also had
a second inning single.
Rob Dickey had a single in the
first inning and connected with a
two -run homer in the fourth frame.
