In the women's division of the 32 - team tournament, the A finalists were from Monkton who defeated the Halfway Betweens of Hensall, and in the B final Carousel Travel of Exeter defeated the Zurich Bali Busters. Co-op juniors split games ?Heywood's grand slam KO's co-op juniors EXETER - After riding a fine pitching performance to a 5-1 vic- tory in Wednesday evening's Western Junior Baseball League game against Goderich, the Exeter Co-op Juniors dropped their sec- ond game of the week 8-4 to Dashwood, Sunday. Against Dashwood, Jason Hey - wood's grand slam in the third put Exeter well behind the eight ball, and they weren't able to recover. After both teams traded runs in the second inning, Exeter pitcher Ter- ry Guenttner got into some trouble in the third. After striking out the first batter, Guenuner gave up four walks, a double to Mark Keller, and the home run to Heywood. Exeter fought back with three runs of their own in the fifth, when Doug Clarke doubled with the bas- es load, but Dashwood played them tough with some great pitch- ing by Mark Keller and Derek Masse, combining to retire the side three times. On Wednesday, Fred Gregus, on the mound for Exeter, pitched a one -hitter, while his team mates combined for ten hits as they won the game 5-1. "Gregus pitched r`e r well," faiid manager Jim Russell.
