enjoys yard sale
and breakfast

DASHWOOD - On Tuesday,
Dashwood W.I. members were im-
pressed with their Mystery Tour of
either birds, cars, accounting or
cabinet making. President Katheryn
Becker presided over the meeting.
Since June is W.I. month, the
program included identification of
W.I. landmarks and symbols, the
receiving of new programs, and a
reminder of the District W.I. picnic
to be held in Crediton Park on July
26 at 12:30 p.m.
A skit, suitable for the date of
June 4, was presented by Gertie
McCrae and Kath ' ri, a Becker.
The picnic style ,Imes included:
gaining beans, an by Aldene
Wolfe; measuring contest, won by
Ruth Stire; show and tell; unwrap-
ping a gift and completing instruc-
tions. An intelligence test informed
members the refreshments were
ready.
The Ontario Ambulance Opera-
tors spring meeting was held at
Rockland. Attending this weekend
event were Jim and Donna Hoff-
man and Lyle and Marie Steadman
of Brigden, accompanied by T.
Harry and Maud Hoffman. The lat-
ter two visited relatives at Frank -
ford, Prescott, and Oshawa.
Saturday "Junk in the Trunk" ar-
rived in Dashwood by wagon loads.
People came in from all over to flea
bargains and it was a huge success
for the church.
John and Kathy Hayter held a
family barbecue Saturday evening,
in honour of Gloria and Bob
Haytcr's 60th birthdays this month.
Relatives, friends and neighbours
were invited later for dessert and
played progressive euchre.
Barbara Mclsaac of Michigan
visited with Nancy Becker.
Pastor Larry Stojkovic and Bill
Becker attended the Ontario Dis-
trict Lutheran Church convention at
Wilfrid Laurier University in Wa-
terloo.
Ken, Linda, Todd and Juke
Genttner travelled to Barrie for the
weekend and brought Alma back
who had been visiting with Don
and Barbara Genttner.

CENTRALIA - The first early
morning service for the summer
was held at the United Church on
Sunday at 8:30. Rev. Udall chose
as her topic, "Music For the Soul".
A conference report was given by
Margaret Cook.
On Wednesday Rev. Udall will
auend an anniversary service at
Grace -St. Andrews church at Am -
prior sharing with the Governor
General of Canada.
Next Sunday, the United Church
will celebrate Confirmation, Re-
ceiving by Transfer and Holy Com-
munion.
The June meeting of the UCW
will be held at Three A's restaurant
in Exeter on June 25 at 6:30 p.m.
