TOWNSHIP
OF STEPHEN
REQUEST FOR
VOLUNTEERS
The Township of Stephen has Initiated a planning and ap-
provals process that would allow it to continue to use the ex-
isting landfill site until the Huron County Waste Management
Master Plan is in place: A Public Advisory Committee is being
established to work in conjunction with the Township Land-
fill Liaison Committee in implementing this process. Applica-
tions are being accepted from property owners and resi-
dents of Stephen Township who are interested In sitting on
the Public Advisory Committee.
Some of the responsibilities of the Public Advisory Commit-
tee will be:
• to provide input to the waste management planning pro-
cess of the Township and the work program for obtaining the
necessary approvals.
• to provide advice and comments regarding the monitoring
of the operation and the eventual closure of the existing
site.
• to advise and assist In making a public participation program
an effective and meaningful part of the planning process.
