International atfestival held in Lucan
World of talent - Billie Appleton of London was one of the many artists Who took part in the Internation-
al Art Festival held at the Lucan Inn over the weekend. Proceeds from the event were donated to -the re-
lief fund for Bangladesh.
Lucan seniors
LUCAN - The Lucan Seniors
held their meeting in the Scout Hall
May 23.
Ailsa Craig is sill inviting sen-
iors to go on their trip and to please
contact Levi White before June 10
if interested.
Jean Hodgins would like to col-
lect the money for our trip before
June 1.
Lunch committee for next week
will be Joan Mohr and Ethel Lang-
ford.
We will be having ice cream and
cake for the last meeting of the
year, June 1, instead of pot luck.
Euchre prizes were drawn.
Winners were: Jean Miler, Pat
Davis, Ethel Langford, Marjorie
Steeper, Liz Conlin and Evan Hod-
gins.

VARNA - The Community Yard
Sale was a great success again this
year and anothei annual one is
planned for Labour Day weekend
so keep saving that junk you no
longer need.
The 61st Stephenson Picnic' is
held Sunday, June 2 at the Bruce -
field Public School. Registration to
begin at 3 p.m., entertainment at.4
p.m. and picnic lunch to follow at 5
p.m.
Goshen Church
Goshen Church Services last
Sunday were led in worship by Pe-
ter Reinsma with guests speaker be-
ing Bill Ferguson in absence of
Rev. Philips at London Confer-
ence. These men are both with the
Gideons Bible Society. The Gide-
ons purpose is to provide current
information of the Gideon Ministry
to Canadian christians. Their objec-
tive is to win others to Christ
through scripture distribution and
personal witness. Several thousand
bibles are given out each year by
the Gideons.
Church services Sunday, June 2
will resume as usual. An official
board meeting will be held Mon-
day, June 3 at 8 p.m. at Goshen
Church.
Vacation Bible School will be
held in Brucefield United Church
from August 19-23. Register before
Friday, June 28. The theme is
"Share God's Blessing".
Ivan and Marg McClymont wilt
be guest speakers at the Varna
U.C.W. meeting on Thursday, June
6.
Stan Lee
Please note the change for the
June Stan Lee meeting. It will be
on Friday, June 7. They will meet
at the Grand Bend Waterworks at
10 am. and arrangements will be
made to go out for lunch after the
tour at the waterworks. If you we
unable to attend this event please
call Anna at 565-5360.

child or children registered for
swimming lessons which are the
week of July 15 and 22. The cost is
