drew's -West Guilford and St.

STAFFA - Sounds of spring
floated round the Family Life Cen-
tre,, as members placed plants for
exchange later. Margaret Christie
and Helen Fell led the worship ser-
vice reviewing segment 4 of "Pow-
er of Image". The group dealt with
a series of questions about the me-
dia- how it seeks to communicate,
to convert, lacks nurturing or dia-
logue, its relevancy without sacri-
ficing our need to be faithful.
Ilia Barker was in charge of the
business discussing plans for the
strawberry supper on June 12.
The members volunteered to pro-
vide 20 dozen cookies for Bimini
Camp. Gwen Christie will finalize
some of the details regarding date
and del 'er.
An invitation received from
Staffa Women's Institute to be
present at Hibbert Township Hall
June 27 at 7:30 p.m. to hear Linda
Strauss tell of the work of SCAW,
Sleeping Children Around the
World, among the poorest of the
world's poor.
Mothers, pre schoolers, and
women of the church will have a
Diggidy Dog Picnic at the church,
Junb 26 at 11:30 a.m. for lunch and
fun.
Margaret Christie gave a report
on the value of our used stamp pro-
ject as well as the value of 1 1!2
million Campbell's soup labels
which purchase computers, cancor-
ders, tables, cameras and teaching
aids. Women are asked to save
them for us.
After singing Now The Day is
Over, the meeting closed with the
Mizpah benediction.
A social time and plant exchange
with Barb Pullman as hostess
brought the program to its conclu-
sion.
Family members visited at the J.
Templeman home on the weekend.
Auending the Perth South Dis-
trict Annual at St. Pauls on Tues-
day were Esther Smale, Verle Ma-
hon, Margaret Daynard, Margaret
Kemp, Roberta Templeman and
Florence McPhail.
Doris Miller, Exeter visited on
Thursday with John and Roberta
Templeman.
Cain Templeman was an over-
night guest of Nick Kellers, the oc-
casion being Nick's I lth birthday.
Mt. Carmel CWL
MOUNT CARMEL - At the
Mount Carmel CWL meetings on
Tuesday, May 7, Judy Palsa and
Marian Sullivan reported on the
convention they had attended in
Windsor. Other items discussed
were planning of the League's
760th anniversary which will be
held in October.
Tickets are on sale for the hand
crocheted bedspread to be drawn at
the Christmas Bazaar on November
9. The Knights of Columbus will
hold a brunch in the school gym on
June 2 after the 11:00 a.m. Mass.
Tickets are available from the
Knights or by calling Nell
McCann.
On Sunday, May 25 the CWL.
will host the children making their
First Communion along with their
families in the parish meeting mom
after 11:00 a.m. Mass.

DASHWOOD - Zion Lutheran
Ladies Guild held their annual
Mother and Daughter banquet with
over 75 attending.
The toast to the Moms was in the
form of a poem "A Mother's Love"
read by Melissa and Miranda
Hayter.
Kathy Hayter responded with a
toast to the daughters with a read-
ing from Ann Landers column
about cherishing every moment of
the child's life.
Several ladies received violets as
a door
A Who's -who Fashion show fol-
lowed and the audience guessed
who each character represented.

Elizabeth, Cher, Johnny Cash, Eve,
Minny Pearl, Dolly Parton, Marga-

is considered & prison sentence.
Well, Bernice and Hugh Boyle
completed that sentence, Sunday,
May 19. Forty years ago somebody
made the statement it wouldn't last
a year but with perseverance and
the love of God we're still together.
We celebrated with our family or-
ganizing arr open house at the Ma-
sonic Lodge Hall, Exeter. The eld-
est son and his family, Scott, Mary
Ann, Shannon, Ryan, Cold Lake,
Alberta were unable to auend. Fras-
er flew in Thursday night from
Vancouver and will stay for the
week.
Dean, Jayne and Mitchell, Trevor
and Wendy, Exeter were instru-
mental in planning the event.
Friends and relatives tram Barrie
to Samia, SL Thomas attended and
a phone call from cousins in Scot-
land completed their special day.
