It's a blast!
As a treat to cap a week of science study at
home, students of Mt. Carmel School were
witness to the launching.of a model rocket in
their schoolyard Friday afternoon. Principal
Laurie Kraftcheck blasts off the solid fuel
model to the delight of the students.

SHIPKA - Congratulations to Ja-
mie Baker on his efforts in bowling
this year. At last week's Youths
Bowling Banquet in Zurich he was
presented with- a plaque as one of
the League's champs.
Cliff and Velma Russell of Dash-
wood arrived home after wintering
in Florida.
On Sunday, April 28, all their
family and grandchildren arrived
with the ingredients for a surprise
dinner. This included three sons in
this area, Doug and Ann, Bruce and
Judy, Don and Ann and their fami-
lies, daughter Kathy and Rick
Plaine and daughters, of Strathroy
and Tom and Rosanne Russell and
,dphildren of Comm.

Harold and Lucille, has completed
her first year term at Windsor Uni-
versity. She is presently at home
and will begin work shortly on a
summer job.
Hugh and I visited recently at
Seaforth, with my sister and her
husband, Mary and Art Finlayson
and also had a brief visit with my
brother, Bill Coleman and nephew,
John Coleman, at Kippen.
A recent visitor with us was Eliz-
abeth Norris, of Sarnia, a former
resident of Grand Cove Estates.

Bridge Club held their annual
Spring dinner at Oakwood Inn,
Thursday, May 9.
Fifteen ladies returned to Betty
Riddell's home to play bridge. The
prize for the highest single score
for one evening was won by Al-
dene Wolfe with 6,220. The yearly
prizes went to Aldene Wolfe for
highest total, second to Rita Chan-
dler. Bridge will resume September
26.
The Western Ontario Funeral As-
sociation held the annual banquet at
the Ramada Inn, London, Wednes-
day, May 8. Jim Hoffman was
elected President.
Terry and Sharon Romphf held a
barbecue Saturday evening at their
new building lot on Emla street.
Present were members of the Fire
Department, friends and neigh-
bours. Entertainment was provided
by Lome Becker.
