Hensall walk to raise funds for cystic fibrosis

HENSALL - This year's Moon -
walk to raise money for the fight
against Cystic Fibrosis will be held
on Sunday, May 26 starting at
10:00 a.m. at the town hall. The
walk-a-thon will cover a distance
of ten kilometers in town.
Prizes will be awarded to the par-
ticipants with the most money
pledged. As well, a poker rally will
be a part of the walk.
Everyone is welcome to partici-
pate. For pledge sheets or further
information contact Jeff Reaburn at
262-3442.
Spring concert
On Tuesday and Wednesday
evenings at 7:30, the Hensall Public
School presented their spring con-
cert entitled Rock On. It was an ex-
cellent program enjoyed by all and
those who donated ume and talent
should be commended.
Composters
The Hensall Village office wish-
es to inform the public that the new
Soilsaver Composter is now availa-
ble for sale at a cost of $28.00 each.
This new improved composter is at-
tractive and produces a rich organic
fertilizer for the garden and lawn.

the village office. The ecolyzer
(green cone) is still available at a
cost of $33.00 each.
Shumeboard
The high six game winners in
shuffleboard were Dave Woodward
with a score of 589; Glen Davidson
with a score of 500; Hugh McKay
with a score of 488; Isabel Roger-
son with a score of 476; Thelma
Thiel with a score of 410 and Pearl
McKnight with a score of 403.
Car show
First Annual Yard Sale Car Show
will be held on Saturday, May 25,
10-3, King St., Hensall. Goody
bags will be given to the first 50 en-
trants. The show is to be held in
conjunction with the Annual Vil-
lage Wide Yard Sale. For more in-

Hensall United Church
Bouquets of spring flower deco-
rated the church for Rev. Doug
Wrights' sermon titled "Command-
ed to Love". Everyone was greeted
at the door by Raye Jacobe while
Jerry Drysdale and Giant St. Johns
ushered. In the children's story the
children were told if they want to
have friends, they first must be a
good friend. The choir sang "0
Love of God" with Deb Wood ac-
companying them on the piano.
After the service the Senior
ft's science - Kris Markson of Usbome Central School got a chance
to display his machine for testing the efficiency of pulleys and gear
ratios on Friday afternoon during the school science fair.

Community Living, S. Huron (Formerly the South Huron District Association for
the Mentally Handicapped) is sponsoring a new fund raiser, the May Day Dash.
"Float a Flower of Hope for Mom" on May 11 at 11 a.m. in the creek at
McNaughton's Park in Exeter. The event is specially for mom, with a first prize of
"Home Bright" monthly Maid Service for one year or $500 cash. Second prize is
Dinner for two at Oakwood Inn ($100) and third prize is a $50 certificate at An-
stett's Jewelers. Tickets are $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00.

A photo contest is also being held for the event. First prize of $50 (donated by
Earl's Taxi) is for the Best Photo of the May Day Dash, the race of flowers down
the creek. The Second prize of $25 (donated by P.F. Walker) is for the funniest
photo of the event. Ali photos become property of Community Living, and the priz-
es will be awarded at the Annual Meeting In Exeter on June 13. Please send your
best or funniest photo into the Dashwood Association Office by May 31st for judg-
ing.
