In case you thought summer was still far away - Carla Taylor left no doubt that summer's fashions and warm weather were on the way during the swimwear portion of the fashion show at Oakwood. Dashwood seniors is__� meeting DASHWOOD - Thirty-four members attended the Dashwood and Area Good Companions Senior Citizens' April meeting, held Mon- day, April 15, at the Community Centre. After the business meeting Mildred Kellerman gave a reading "Spring" and a reading by Martha Weigand "A Seniors Income Tax Return". Guest speaker from Stratford, Linda Straus gave a talk and showed slides on poor, needy chil- dren in Honduras and Columbia in South America. "Sleeping Children Around the World" is an organization operated by travelling volunteers founded by Murray and Margaret Dryden in 1970. Each child in need is given a bed kit. A donation was given by the members towards two bed kits. Several members attended the "Spring Rally" Zone 8 U.S.C.O. Tuesday, April 16. Seventeen clubs in Zone 8 gave their reports for the year. The new officers for the year were installed. Afternoon guest speaker was "Miss La Vonne Bal- lagh" speaking on the "Golden Years". Shuffleboard The high six game winners in shuffleboard were Glen Davidson with a score of 470; Lorna Spencer with 456; Hazel McEwen, who scored 452; Alice Thiel with 450; Walter Spencer scoring 428 and Ei- leen Dowson who scored 408. Coming events The seventh annual community wide yard sale and garage sale will be held on Saturday, May 25. To register to be on the, placement map phone 262-2812.
