EXETER - Judging by allBy the cmpliments and stiff joints, it was
proven that a very successful co-ed touranment was held on the week-
end at South Huron District High School and Exeter Public School.
Exeter Centennial senior soccer club and Crediton ladies fastball
team organized the tournament with teams coming from Kitchener,
Waterloo, Tillsonburg, London and area teams in Huron County.
The teams played a round robin of five matches and then went into
their respective places for the semi finals.
By 9 p.m., all the cheering and noise had finished and prizes were
handed out to the winners.
A .team from St. Marys, "Dunnies and Dags" defeated another St.
Marys team "The Bushmisters" to take the "A" award. "Flying Flyers"
from the Parkhill area defeated a Kitchener team "Court Jesters" to
take the "B" award. In the "C" division, a local Exeter team, Fred Gre-
gus' "The Wild Things" defeated the Ausable Autters and in the "D" di-
vision, a Strafford team "St. Mike's Warriors" defeated another local
team, Marg Thompson's "The Silly Six".
Special thanks goes to all the referees, teams that helped do lines and
players that made this such a great day and helped to keep it running
smoothly. Special recognition to Kate Monk and Patti Haist for all
your extra help.
It's time now to get the cleats out of storage and our bodies ready for

acers capture s ver
medal at
BRAMp'rON - provincials
In just five years, the Huron Park Pacers have moved
rup two categories in the Ontario Women's Hockey
Association.
But moving from 'D' to 'B' hasn't hurt their
perfor-
mance as they returned from the weekend with a sil-
ver medal in the Provincial Senior 'B' champion-
ships.
Last year they won the 'C' title and in the past five
season, have won four medals.
In the final game against Orangeville, the Pacers were denied a goal
which could have tied the score but instead were beaten 3-1. Apparent-
ly, when the game was 2-1, Huron Park scored but it was disallowed.
Tammy Mathers had a good series and scored in the championship
game.
Earliethanks tor a preliminary action, the Pacers defeated Orangeville 2-1
pair of goals by Linda Coulter. In game two, they came -
from -behind to tie North Bay.
Trailins 3-1 with just four minutes left in the game, the Pacers' Sher-
ri Pickering was given a penalty but Coulter netted a pair of shorthand-
ed tallies to tie it up.
The game ended in a 3-3 deadlock and both Orangeville and Huron
Park, topping their pool, advanced to further play.
