Ron Westlake opened the meet- ing with some choruses followed by an exciting quiz on Proverbs 16:17-33. The singing group High Power delighted the young people with a number of songs. Jeff Biejdrveld gave a message encouraging the young people to become agents of change. "You can make changes and help other peo- ple make changes". The key to evangelism is honesty, talking to people about your experiences. A film called "The Visitor" will be shown at the next rally on May 4. The Hensall Seniors met on April 9 for a potluck dinner. Irene took charge of the business part of the meeting. Several members of the group will be going to the rally in Dungannon on April 16 and an in- vitation to Huronview was accept- ed. Walter and Ethel Knowles will attend a meeting in Kirkton about transportation in our area. A donation was made to the Can - cu Society. Hilda Payne intro- duced Tammy Antaya and Sally Lawton who discussed Home Sup Et. uchre winners were Gertie Moir, Hilda Payne, Evelyn Flynn, Pat Volland. Shuffleboard The high six game winners in shuffleboard were: Pearl McKnight, with a score of 624; Hugh McKay scoring 499; Dave Kyle with 468; and Glen Davidson scoring 433. To register to be Zion Lutheran .Ladies meet in Dashwood By Bernice Boyle DASHWOOD - President Jill Stojkovic opened the Zion Luther- an Ladies guild meeting with prayer. The topic Prayer was given by the guest speaker, Pastor Paul Pol- len of SL Thomas. He discussed the principle of prayer with the members who looked up the different scripture verses on prayer. The greatest privilege God gives to you is the freedom to approach Him at anytime in prayer as he has made Himself available to you at all times. Calvary U.C.W. met Tuesday evening with the Christian Devel- opment committee chairperson Idella Gabel, welcoming 14 mem- bers. Carol Steckie gave a brief message on Spring renewal on faith. She showed slides on various gardens they had visited through their business years. Frieda Hayter and Alma Genuner held a shower -luncheon for Jan Schoeftner, bride to be of Mark Chandler. Their wedding will be in Toronto. on the placement map, phone 262- 2812. Each registrant will receive 25 Hensall shopping bags free. United Church Hensall United Church celebrated the Third Sunday of Easter with the Family of God Gathering to Cele- brate Baptism and Transfer of Membership. Rev. Doug Wright conducted the service, children's time and the sermon "Recognizing the Risen Christ". Deborah Wood was at the organ for the anthem "Angels Through the Night" by Phihp Kern. Janis Bisback read the scripture Micah 4:1-7 and 1 John 3:1-7. Welcomed to the church family by Transfer of Membership were: Heather Kennedy from Emmanuel Reformed Church, Woodstock; and Judy Simmons from Hyatt Avenue United Church, London. Five were welcomed to our church family by the Sacrament of Baptism. Tom DesJardlne (left) supervises as Gonion Bailey and Alan Ma/ette pack in the dirt. HENSALL - A trip to London Gardens on Friday for the Garden Brothers Circus was the highlights of our week. Rose Erb, volunteer van driver, transported us on that beautiful sunny day. Residents en- joyed the drive to London, and found the circus just tremendous. as always the animal acts were the favorite with trapeze artists a close second. Hensall Presbyterian ladies pro- vided prizes and assistance at Bin- go on Monday afternoon. We will enjoy their help each Monday in April. Reverend De Graw of the Faith Tabernacle in Centralia led a rous- ing church service Tuesday after- noon. The singing by Rev. and his wife was especially enjoyed by everyone auending. Six residents attended Supper Club again this past Thursday. It's rather interesting what some resi- dents have a craving for. Fried bo- logna, potatoes, peas and cherry cheesecake turned up on our Sup- per Club menu Thursday. Hensall's Beaver Pack visited Thursday evening along with their leaders. Residents and Beavers planted an abundance of tomato, onion, radish and pepper seeds in small styrofoam containers. Several strong little plants are already pok- ing their way through the soil, rath- er amazing if you would had seen the soil being packed over seeds Tl'iursday evening by little hands. We look forward to having the Bea- vers back again to check on our joint project.
