CARMEL - The April meeting of the ML Carmel C.W.L. was held in the parish meeting room on April 2. The rosary was recited at 7:15 p.m. followed by mass at 7:30 p.m. A Thanksgiving prayer was of- fered by president Theresa McCann. Father Murphy was thanked for his spiritual guidance, leadership and cooperation. The dedicated executive, coun- cillors and members of the Mt. Cannel C.W.L. were thanked for their loyal support. ' Roberta Walker and daughter Fi- onawere gues at the March meeung. A t donation was given to the Huron County Re- source Library which Walker helped to organize. Mr. and Mrs. Le sperance and family of Huron Park received a donation of $300 to help with the loss of their home to a fire. A keyboard has been donated to Our Lady of Mt. Cannel Church, Saintsbury by H. Davis SAINTSBUItY - Morning prayer was held at 8:30 a.m. at St. Pat- rick's church on Sunday. Dave Hughesman, a London the- ology student, read the lessons and theel. St. Patrick's parish are very sad to hear that rector Reverend Beverley Anne Wheeler has been called to the St. Paul's Cathedral to act as Associate Rector effective May 15. Our sincere thanks, thoughts and prayers will be with her always. Parish Bible Study will be held at Jefferies' home at 1:30 p.m. on ednesday, April 10. Personals Hugh and Hazel Davis were Sat- urday afternoon visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Waters of Elmira. They attended the Maple Syrup • Festival and Saturday evening, the Davis' visited with Bill and Betty Johnson of Stratford. On Sunday, April 14, the Holy Communion service will be held at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick's church with Bob MacGillivray reading lessons Acts 3: 12-19, 1 John 3: 1-7, Re- sponsive reading psalm 4, Gospel reading Luke 24: 35-48. Julie Carroll will act as server, Margaret Carroll will be the lay as- sistant. The theme Jesus Disciples carry on His work. At 7:15 p.m. on Sunday , April 14, St. Paul's church in Kirkton will host its Spring Fling at the commu- nity centre. St. Patrick's parish is invited. Staffa by Roberta Templeman STAF'FA - The Hibbert United Church Women were led in their March worship service by Margaret Daynard and Annie Norris who used a video entitled the Poser of Images to present a thought- provoking message which demon- strated how Gospel, culture and media can blend to influence one's values. The next meeting is scheduled for April 9 when Pauline Goettler will speak on home decor. The London Conference of the United Church Women will meet in Sault Ste. Marie on April 17. The Huron -Perth Presbyterial will meet at the Varna Community Centre on April 29. The food grains project was an- nounced and donations can be made in envelopes provided during April. Medication will accompany food to poverty-stricken areas. • The Heart and Stroke Foundation for Hibbert Township raised $2,360.50 in a door-to-door canvas this year, and a sincere thank -you goes out to all in Hibbert who con- tributed to this worthy cause. Captains Alice Gardiner and Marg Van Bakel would like to thank all the ladies and gentlemen who so kindly gave their time to canvas.
