Blood donor cIinic

LUCAN - The Blood Donor
Clinic fell a bit short of last year's
total, but the Red Cross was grate-
ful for the 102 donors that came
out. There were only three defer-
rals.
Many thanks to St. Patrick's
Catholic Women's League and co-
ordinator Linda Misra. Thanks
also to computer operate Marg
Gilmour, Ruth Jackson and
Miller - Haygarth
Steven Douglas Miller, Zurich
and Lynn Anne Haygarth, Lucan
were united in marriage on April
6 at the immaculate Heart of
Mary Catholic Church with Fa-
ther Wallace officiating.. Steven
is the son of Joseph and the
late Ann Miller and Lynn Ann is
the daughter of Wallace and Jill
Haygarth. Marie Christine Hay-
garth, Texas, sister of the bride
was maid of honour. Flower -
girls were Tyla Haygarth, Lucan,
sister of bride and Christina
Miller, Zurich, daughter of the
groom. Wayne Haygarth, Lucan
and Robert Miller, Zurich were
ushers. After a wedding trip to
Eastem Ontario, the bridal
couple will reside at Zurich.

Euchre
Prize winners at the euchre tour-
ney held at the community centre
on April 1 are; high score - Helen
MacDonald and Jack Dickens;

Howard Dolan; low score - Irene
Theander and Bev Hamilton.
Games date
The next euchre tourney will be
held on April 15. Jean Millar,
Murray Carter and Ed and Kay
Armstrong will be the conveners.

SHIPKA - A full house was out
to play progressive euchre Wednes-
day night at Shipka Community
Centre. Ladies outnumbered men at-
tending, and with 15 tables in play
the ladies won all the prizes. Ladies
high - Lula Culbert; ladies low -
Shirley Eagleson; ladies most lone
hands - Gloria Beireling; men's
prizes were all won by ladies play-
ing a mans card. Mens high - Annie
Finkbeiner, mens low - Ellen
Smithers; mens most lone hands -
Theresa McCann.
The north group were in charge of
lunch refreshments. Harold Fink-
beiner said this was the last euchre
for this year, thanked everyone for
attending, and he hoped to see folks
back next season.
Easter visitors
Visiting with Don and Elizabeth
Adams were Brock and Dianne Ad-
ams, Andrew, Dean and Colin, of
London, and Clark Adams, of To- I
ronto. Clark is presently attending
- George Brown College, in Toronto,
where he is taking his apprentice-
ship as a pastry chef. Mark Adams
of London, was home on Good Fri-
day, to say good bye to his family,
as he has been transferred to Cal-
gary, Alberta by the Purolator
Courier from London.
Easter visitors with Willis, Ella
and Michelle Mabel Desjardine,
were Gloria Ferguson, London,
Ruby Smith, Greenway and Ronnie
Romphf and friend Sheila of Syl-
van.
Michelle Vincent who is attend-
ing Windsor University was home
on Easter weekend to visit her par-
ents.
Hugh and I were Easter Sunday
dinner guests with Ernest and Ann
Morenz, at their summer cottage at
Ipperwash.

Exeter seniors' news

EXETER - Exeter Senior Citi-
zens accepted an invitation from
Huronview for dinner and entertain-
ment in June, the date to be deter-
mined later, and to the spring rally,
April 16, in Dungannon.
A Share the Vision workshop
will be held May 8, at the Kirkton
Community .Centre.
In memoriam for Ila Moir and
prayers for the sick and shut ins
were expressed by Olga Davis, pres-
ident.
. Volunteers for bingo at the Villa
for April are Ted and Shirley
Wright and Mildred Thomson.
The birthdays of Murray Greene
and Edna Caldwell and the 50th
wedding anniversary of Pat and Gla-
dys Skinner were honoured.
Olga read suitable poems and
jokes as did Ted Wright who was in
charge of the program. Ted read the
nostalgic poem 'Somebody's Moth-
er,' from an old second reader, fa-
miliar to all seniors, which he had
purchased for about six dollars. The,
original price was nine cents. Edna
Caldwell shared her favourite,
Psalm 121.
Musical numbers by Gordon
Smith, Marlene Mathers and Eric
Kints were enjoyed.
Lunch and fellowship followed,
having enjoyed an hour of cards to
begin the meeting.
