euchre held tonight, April 3 at
Shipka Community Centre, at 8
p.m.

Annie and Angie Zielman hosted
the annual Janzen family Easter
gathering of relatives on Good Fri-
day. Family and relatives attend
from Essex, Leamington, Zurich,
Exeter and Dashwood, with over 40
in attendance.
Ferman and Leota Snyder attend-
ed an 85 birthday party, Sunday,
for Ferman's brother-in-law,
George Shoemaker, in Elmira.
They also visited Leota's brother,
Armand Musselman at St. Mary's
hospital in Kitchener.
Sue -Anne Schroeder, of Ottawa,
and Sandra Schroeder, of Dungan-
non, were home on Easter weekend
with their parents and brother Den-
nis.
The Regier family, Sandra, Tony,
Chris, Heather and Jill, of Mount
Clemens, Michigan, spent the
weekend here with Sandra's father,
Ken Baker.
Weekend visitors with Hugh and
I were my brother, Bill Coleman,
Ernest Morenz, Les and Marjorie
Adams, Hazel Corbett and Blanche
Chapman. The latter four were sup-
per guests with us Saturday night.
Our son Bill returned home to Lon-
don from a week's visit in B.C.
with daughter Persephone, in Co-
quitlam.
Several ladies from this area at-
tended the Easter Ecumenical, held
Tuesday night March 26, at Green-
way United Church. Other church-
es participating and attending were
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic
church, Dashwood United, Grand
Bend United, Grand Bend Anglican
and Church of God.
Guest speaker was Janet John-
stone, of Parkhill, speaking on Je-
sus' life, from the book, Last
Chance, by James Taylor.

On our way to church Sunday
morning in Grand Bend, we passed
a large white human Easter Bunny,
out walking on Hwy. 21 who
waved to us.

Macgregor.

Him was provided by guest soloist
Gary Mallalieu accompanied by
Agnes Bray on the piano.
The choir sang They led Him
away. The choir sang The cross of
calvary and the elders then looked
after the Communion.
Assisting with the service were
Robert Bray, Margaret Stewart,
John Batten, Sharon Lynn and Ann
Delbridge.
Rev. Macgregor gave an inspir-
ing message which brought a very
impressive and symbolic service to
a close.
The Easter Sunday - Agape ser-
vice was very well -attended at 8
a.m. at Elimville Church.
The Resurrection of the Lord
Easter Sunday worship service was
conducted by Rev. Macgregor and
the seasonal colour is white.
The choir sang Why weepest
Thou.
Rev. Macgregor and the congre-
gation read responsively Psalm
118: 14-24. The congregation sang
the children's hymn Walk softly in
spring -time and Rev. Macgregor
gave the children's message Hot
Cross Bun. Rev. Macgregor read
One Corinthians 15: 51-58 an John
20: 1-18.

mourns the loss of Verna Becker
who passed on to her Eternal Life;
March 27, 1991.
Members of the Dashwood
Women's Institute formed a guard
of honour at her funeral Saturday
at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zu-
rich.
Verna was a faithful member of
the Institute and she will be sadly
missed.
Pastor Stephen Alles officiated
at the service.
Zion Lutheran and Calvary Unit-
ed held Easter sunrise services and
both served breakfast to a good
number of early risers.

CENTRALIA - A large crowd
attended the United Church ser-
vice on Sunday.
An Easter Cantata was given by
the choir and a communion ser-
vice was also held.
On Thursday, April 4, the
U.C.W. will meet at 8 p.m. in the
church. New times for exercise
classes will be at 8:45 a.m. on.
Tuesday and Friday under Anne
McDougall.
Two services were held at Faith
Tabernacle on Easter Sunday with
special music at both services. In
the evening, a talent show was
held starring church members.
The sympathy of the community
is extended to Paul and Helen
Klemke and family, following the
sudden death of Helen's brother
William Wilson. He passed away
during a trip to Thailand.
Easter Sunday dinner guests
with Clayton, Alice and Clyde
Kooy were their daughter Bonnie
of London, Barb Smith and Mary
Kooy of Centralia. Many town
people were on trips on the holi-
day weekend.
This week's euchre prize win-
ners are; high score - Jean Noels
and Howard Dolan; lone hands -
Lily Swartz and Harry Noels; low
score - Marian Noels and Jack Bo-
land. The next euchre tourney will
take place at 2:30 p.m. on April 8.
Saintsbury by H. Davis
SAINTSBURY - "The Great
Easter Vigil" was held at St. Pat-
rick's, Saturday evening at 7:30
p.m. with the celebration of Holy
Communion. Reading the lessons
were Nadene Bedell, Mary Jeffer-
ies and Margaret Carroll. Our
thanks to Mrs. Harold Davis of
Exeter who provided the music for
the service. Margaret Carroll was
lay assistant. Rev. Beverley Anne
Wheeler spoke on the Resurrec-
tion.
A social time followed the ser-
vice in the parish hall.
Parish bile study will meet this
Wednesday at the home of Nadenc
Bedell.
Next Sunday April 7, the service
of Morning Prayer will be held at
8:30 a.m. at St. Patricks. Mary Jef-
fereis to read the lessons.
St. Patrick's ACW will meet at
