Broncos win "B" •
Lincolns retain their title
THEDFORD - For the second straight year, the Exeter Lincolns have
won the Lambton-Middlesex Bantam championship. •
After wrapping up the regular season with a 13-3-4 record, the Lin-
colns entered the playoffs just two points out of first place. But they
.came out on top m the playoffs.
Saturday in Thedford, Exeter skated to a 2-1 championship win over
their arch -rivals from Watford Ron Gandarez and Souban Inlakhana led
the Lincolns with aoal and an assist each.
The road to the final game started two weeks ago when Exeter beat
Forest 7-2. Scott Parsons hada hat trick in that one with two from Gan-
darez and singles to Jeff Lingard and Ted Hoffman.
Exeter then eliminated St. Mary's Medics 6-3. Parsons had a pair with
one each off the sticks of Inlakhana, Lingard and Jamie Dougall.
Against Watford in the final, both teams were at their best and proved
to be equally matched as many shots were taken but the game remained
scoreless.
Watford scored first but the Lincolns then came to life. Matt Godbolt
played well at both ends of the rink and Mike Strang and Glenn Hines
did a good job killing penalties.
The Lincolns are sponsored by Gaiser Kneale Insurance Co.
Broncos win 'B': David Farquhar scored five goals and set up an-
other as the Exeter Broncos won the Shamrock 'B' championship in Lu -
can on the weekend.
Also scoring were Jeff MacLean with four, David Marshall scored
twice with the other from Greg Goeffery. Marshall and Luke Sims each
had three assists while Chad Dalrymple and MacLean set up two goals.
Also assisting were Geoffrey and Lucas Forrest.
In a closer overtime game, the Broncos clinched the title with a 3-2
win over Dorchester. Faruqhar, MacLean and Marshall scored with as-
sists to Dalrymple, Ryan Freiter and Brian Hayman.
