84 charges
EXETER - Exeter Ontario Pro-
vincial Police reported 84 charges
laid last week and 56 general occur-
rences were investigated.
Three vehicular accidents were
reported including a Tuesday inci-
dent wherein Teresa Griffith of
Kippen and Raymond Boersma of
RR1, Exeter, collided at the corner
of County Road 21 and Algonquin
Drive in Huron Park. Police report-
ed minor damage to the Griffith ve-
hicle and moderate damage to
Boersma's.
A vehicle owned by Robert
Cowdrey of RR6, SL Marys re-
ceived minor damage while parked
at the rear of a tavern in Huron
Park. The suspect fled the scene.
An Exeter car dealership also re-
ported a lost dealer plate - serial
number #411 DBV.
Several thefts were reported this
week including the theft of a five-
year-old black Citizen C13 radio
from the, truck of Calvin Rohde of
RR2, Centralia between March 9 -
13. Police said the unlocked vehicle
was parked in his driveway at the
time of the theft. The CB is valued
at about $100.
Another theft took place at ap-
proximately 1 p.m. on March 13 in
Huron Park. Bernice Zimmerman
returned to her vehicle to find a bag
of jewelry missing from it includ-
ing two bracelets and gold hoop
Exeter O.P.P also report damage
'to numerous mailboxes along Con-
cession 6-7 of Stephen Township at
approximately 11:55 p.m. on
Thursday.
Police also reported a stolen per-
sonalized licence plate reading
'Buts 2' from Jeffrey Butler of
Dashwood.
Police reported the theft of an
Owl Light from a road hazard sign
on the Usborne-Tuckersmith Town -
line - the serial number is 025-201-
015 and has an approximate value
of $40.

Hospitals to
receive funds
CLINTON - Hospitals in Clinton,
Exeter and Wingham will receive a
total of $583,160 for renovation
programs, Paul Klopp, MPP for
Huron announced last week on be-
half of Health Minister Evelyn Gig -
antes.
The health ministry is making
$39.7 million available for new
capital projects across the province
1 as part of the $700 -million anti -
I1recession program announced in
December by Treasurer Floyd
Laughren.
Eighty health care facilities, in-
cluding hospitals and children's
treatment centres, in 59 Ontario
communities will be participating
in the program. One hundred forty-
two projects are expected to begm
within the next three months and be
completed by ' the end of March
1992.
Clinton Public Hospital will re-
ceive $498,000 for renovations to
its outpatient services area. South
Huron Hospital Association in Ex-
eter will receive $50,000 for base-
ment renovations, and Wingham
and District Hospital will receive
$35,160 to renovate the hospital en-
trance and replace the operating
room roof.
