In the middle row ate Jeff McLean (left), Sean Beattie, Jennifer ti Shipka by Annie Morenz SHIPKA - There will be another euchre at Shipka Community Cen- tre tonight, March 20.at 8 p.m. On the weekend, Annie Zielman, along with others from Seaforth and Zurich, spent the weekend in Frankenmuth, Michigan on a bus trip. Their overnight time was spent at a Lodge in Flint and attending Sunday morning service at the St. Lorenz Lutheran church. Jason Finkbeiner was home for spring break with his family and friends, from Lindsay, where he at= tends Sir Sanford Fleming college. Seniors from Grand Bend, Dash- wood and Shipka area enjoyed a bus trip to Kitchener last Wednes- day, Leaving Grand Bend at 9:30 a.m. we went to Bingeman Park Convention Centre, where we en- joyed a delightful Irish program. There was lots of Irish music, songs, jokes, dancing and fiddle playing. Those from this area on the trip were Madeline Sweitzer, Doreen Finkbeiner and Annie MyMo- renz. maternal grandparents John and arx Jack- son were born in County Wicklow, Ireland, and came to Canada in 1889 in a sailing vessel with seven young children. Several folks from this area called to congratulate Carmen and Verna Lovie, Sunday, at their open house on the occasion of their 50 wedding anniversary, held at Grand Bend Legion. Leota Snyder visited several days last week, in Kitchener, with her sister, Kaletta Musselman. Dbnice Dundas, of Crediton spent the weekend with her grand- ma, Madeline Sweitzer. A number of white whistling swans were sighted in a corn field south on Highway 83 last week. . Dashwood by Bernice Boyle DASHWOOD - Lutheran Zion Ladies guild met Tuesday with 18 ladies present and one guest. President Jill Stojkovic opened with a short business meeting. Altar guild for the next month Kathy Kel- ler, Nora Weido. The guest speaker, Mrs. Radke spoke on Lutherwood in Waterloo, and its functions and how this com- munity project helps families in the communities. Next meeting is April 9 with Pas- tor Pollen speaking on prayer. Calvary U.C.W. entertained at the Bluewater Rest Home for the monthly birthday party. Leadership and Stewardship com- mittee were in charge of the pro- gram. Convener, Maida Gasser gave several humorous quotes and reading along with Karen Tieman giving the meditation. Jennifer and Amanda Weigand and Wendy Morlock danced their three routines for the residents. Duets and quartets were sung by Harry Hoffman, Gerrie McCrae, Shirley Tiernan and Stanley Haist. Lunch and birthday cake was served by Martha Weigand, Jane Newman, Rita Chandler, Maida and Karen. Earl, Kathryn, Kathy -Ann and Ross Keller just returned from Cal- gary where they attended the 100 birthday of their grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. F. Mykek. Kathryn's brothers Ron and Ken Oke and families of Exeter also flew out for the occasion. McNeilly, Katie Webber, Hayley Snell, and Shawna Rowe.
