Welcome Wagon's annual
bridal show best yet

EXE'T'ER - An air of enthu-
siasm, excitement and hospitality
filled the South Huron Recreation
Centre last Monday as approxi-
mately 325 people arrived for the
seventh annual Welcome Wagon
Bridal Party, organized by local
hostesses Cathy Seip and Doris
Weigand.
Invited guests, sponsors, pro-
gram participants and assistants
were among those who attended.
Each of the 132 brides who regis-
tered received many worthwhile
gifts and discount coupons from
the participating businesses. The
brides to be were also given an op-
portunity to view the many dis-
plays pertaining to wedding plan-
ning and homemaking.
Musical duo Amy Hawley and
Michelle Ross opened the program
with two very beautiful love songs
suitable for a wedding. A fashion
show of bridal wear by Collins
The Wedding People, tuxedoes by
Collins Formal Rental, bridal bou-
quets by Country Flowers and fash-
ions by Clothes Call graced the
stage which was enhanced by deco-
rauons provided by Country Flow-
ers.
Throtighout the ,evening, hostess
Cathy Seip introduced each partici-
pating business praising their quali-
ty merchandise and their personal
and professional services. Door
prizes were presented to 27 lucky
brides to be by each of the follow-

Exeter residents entertain seniors
EXETER - Irish jokes and good
humour prevailed at the March
meeting of the Exeter Seniors.
The Hawleys, Rick, Linda and
Amy accompanied by Michelle
Ross entertained with several duets
and solos which were enjoyed and
a iated.
Stories, jokes and recitations were
given by Ina Skinner, Olive Hicks,
Mary Neil and Olga Davis.
Spring Rally will be held in the
Dungannon Agriculture Hall, Tues-
day, April 15 with registration 9:30 1
to 10:30 a.m. and fee of $3. per

A Caring Community Conference
will be held April 26-29 at the Del-
ta Chelsea Inn, Toronto.
Alva Heywood would like mem-
bers to contact her regarding plans
for trips. Eldon Heywood on be-
half of the Exeter Legion presented
the Exeter Seniors with a cheque
for a $1000 donation.
Walkathon this year will be held
May 24 to June 2.
Bingo at the Villa will be in
charge of volunteers Luella Taylor,
Eva and Jennie Tinkler and Mary
Smits.
An hour of cards and lunch was
enjoyed.
Next meeting will be Tuesday,
April 2 at the Exeter Legion Hall.

and Marjorie Adams, and Al, Joan
and Donna Corbett, all paid a sur-
prise visit to Hazel Corbett, on the
occasion of her birthday Saturday.
We played euchre and had a birth-
day supper.
There are still some seats availa-
ble for a bus trip April 16, to the St.
Lawrence Arts Centre, in Toronto,
to a musical, The Dream Land, mu-
sic of the 30s. Anyone interested
