salary increase for teachers as well
as benefit improvements including
special benefit committees for all of
the board's employee groups.
After 19 hours of negotiations
with mediator Tom Bastedo, provid-

unanimously ratified in Dublin.

Village to
split costs
equally
ZURICH - Village council de-
cided the time has come to split
the costs of recycling more equal-
ly, at their January meeting.
After lengthy debate, council
agreed Zurich businesses and resi-
dents with more than one recy-
cling unit will pay an extra fee
equalling 50 percent extra over the
initial recycling unit's cost
Councillor Doug Thiel stated an
extra charge is necessary, but
shouldn't be exorbitant.
"It is a business, they are getting
more service," said Thiel, adding
the charge is not set up to "penal-
ize them for recycling.'
Reeve Bob Fisher agreed with
Thiel's comments stating, " I think
they should pay a little bit extra."
Fisher said charging higher fees
to those who have more than one
recycling unit is more just.
