GRAND BEND .- The Huron
Country Playhouse Ladies Guild
has announced details of plans for
its annual Art Show and Sale.
"We're bigger than ever," says
Guild representative, Pat Venton.
"Because of the increased interest in
our show, both from artists and
from the public, we've had to move ,
to larger quarters." The Show will
be presented in the future Grand
Bend Public Library Building (lo-
cated beside the Post Office), mov-
ing from the basement of the Vil-
lage Office.
"We were very fortunate that Bill
and Bev Harwood, the owners of the
building were willing to donate the
space to us. It's a much better place
for us. Bigger, and a better facility
for the display of paintings and
sculptures", said Venton.
The Art Show and Sale will be
running both Winter Carnival
weekends this year, presenting the
work of many well-known artists
and craftsmen. "Although the main
focus is again on local Southwest-
ern Ontano artists, we've also ex -
paneled in this area," says Venton.
PertiCipating artists include Puck
Meriden, a well-known local artist
and Bill George of Kettle Point,
whose native Canadian paintings
have been very popular items at
the show for the last two years.
Tim Clark, Gordon Lambert and
Mary Dyak also return for 1991.
The Art Show and Sale will run
February 9 and 10 and February 16
and 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Weekdays the show will be open
from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is no
admission charge.
