Annual mission bingo
planned in Zurlch

ZURICH - Mark your calendars
and plan to attend the annual bin-
go to raise money for Brother Bob
Mittleholtz in India. This year it
will be held on Sunday, February
17 at the Zurich Community Cen-
tre from 2 to 4 p.m. Admission
will be one dollar and include re-
freshment. 'The event is sponsored
by the St. Boniface parish.
Quilting Bees,
The Ladies Auxiliary from the
Blue Water Rest Home have set
up a quilt at Mary -Lou Erb's and
anyone interested in helping can
call her at 236-4779. The women
of St. Boniface C.W.L. will also
be putting up a quilt on Monday,
January 28 in the new church's
narthex. Both projects will be
used for the August Bean Festival.
CWL Fun Night
If any CWL members are inter-
ested in going to the Fun Night on
Wednesday, February 6 they are
asked to contact Mary -Lou De-
nomme at 236-4769. The event
will be held in Seaford) at the Com-
munity Centre and will begin at
6:30 p.m. with a potluck supper.
Euchre Party
A reminder to those who like to
play cards that there will be a eu-
chre party at St. Peters Parish Hall
in St. Joseph on Sunday, January
27. The event will begin at 7:30
p.m. and will be sponsored by their
CWL.

The World Day of Prayer will be
held at St. Boniface this year on the
fust Friday in March.
Fair Board Meeting
The annual Fair Board Meeting
of the Agriculture Society will be
held at the Hay Township Hall in
Zurich on Thursday, January 24 at
8 p.m.

and Robert Corey who were mar-
ried at SL Peter's Lutheran Church
on Saturday.

Vera Shantz on their 50 anniver-
thAn open house was held in
eir honour Sunday at the Men-
nonite Church.
Birthday wishes to Robbie Ma-
thonia who turned two on Sunday
and also to Anne -Marie Watson on
turning 80.
Donna Merner spent several days
visiting her dad, Arnold, and -her
mother, Belle, at the Blue Water
Rest Home.
The children of Wilfred Corri-
veau spent the weekend visiting
with him.
Service was held Sunday at St.
Peter's Lutheran Church for the five
children of Kim and Ron Crete as
they were baptized. Melanie,
Cindy, Michael, Alichia and
George were all baptized by pastor
Stephen Alles.

$1,500 photocopier to all of Hensall's service groups and commu-
nity organizations. It will remain housed at the Legion where it can

On Monday, January 28 at 7:30
p.m. there will be a Block Parent
meeting at Hensall public- school.
All those interested in the program
are welcome to attend.
Let's have a better turnout than
the last time.
Shuffleboard
On January 15 shuffleboard was
played in Hensall. The high six
game winners were Hazel McEwen
with a score of 423, Eileen Dowson
with a score of 408, Ellen Coutts
with a score of 408, Dave Wood-
ward with a score of 366 and Hugh
McKay with a score of 363.
Shuffleboard will be played as
usual on Tuesday in Hensall.

VARNA - The Varna Recreation
Committee met last week to set
dates for the following events so
mark your calendars.
The Annual Family Fun Night is
Saturday, March 2 from 8-11 p.m.
Price is $10 per family and $5 a
single. This includes hotdoos and
ladies bring squares or cookies for
dessert.
The Annual Canoe rally is to be
held Sunday, April 7 and the Annu-
al Fiddler's Jamboree is to be held
Sunday, April 14. Sounds like an-
other busy year ahead.
The teen youth group are plan-
ning a spaghetti supper for Tues-
day, February 5 from 5:30 to 7:30
p.m. at the Brucefield Church. Cost
will be $6 an adult, 12 and under
$3 and preschoolers free. For ad-
vance tickets call Rev. Philips at
233-3110.
The younger youth group will
meet Thursday, January 31 at 7
p.m. in the Brucefield Church.
